ASICS stands for gAnima Sana in Corpore Sanoh, a sound mind in a sound body.
- ASICS stands for gAnima Sana in Corpore Sanoh, a Latin phrase expressing the ancient ideal of a sound mind in a sound body. We believe that sport has not only a positive effect on the body and soul, but has a universal meaning that overcomes cultural
differences and contributes to improve solidarity.
The basic principles count for everyone in our organization, including people involved in the production.
For many years, Corporate Social Responsibility has played an important role within the ASICS organization, and since 1998 we are working with extensive Codes of Conduct, which are based on the guidelines of the World Federation of Sporting Goods
Industry (WFSGI) and we are active member of the organization.
Since 2000. Our products are almost all PVC free, the number of products made either 100% recycled material or in part will soon exceed one thousand items, and have been awarded ISO14001 certification. These are results of our grave concern toward
deteriorating the earth environment and determination to adhere to CSR.
Per April 2003, ASICS made a start with the further implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility Programs and has taken steps to sharpen the control on fulfillment. Also, a Compliance Committee has been introduced and a Compliance System has been
set up.
