Introduction

The report is mainly about actions in Asics Corporation (Head Office in Kobe, Japan), but it also includes actions of the company group in Japan and overseas.

ASICS responds to the world by interactively undertaking CSR
President CSR is a fundamental management guideline for any corporation that wishes to coexist in harmony with the environment and society and continue to prosper. I personally have been interpreting the principle as a way to respond to social expectations from our company perspective. For ASICS, born from a firm base in quality manufacturing, everything starts with manufacturing and offering the best products. When this is achieved, we start to think how to satisfy the various stakeholders who support ASICS, including our customers, shareholders, employees, suppliers, people in the local community, and distributors. Whatever the answer is, we try to keep the main philosophy of management in balance with social needs.

@With our main brand names ASICS and Onitsuka Tiger becoming well recognized in Europe and other foreign markets, the company's CSR policies are being further scrutinized. As a result, it is getting more and more important to give consideration to issues such as environmental preservation, human rights, and labor issues. Also to the manufacturing of superior products that will be valued in the global market. Corporate governance and enhanced control of personal information are also important. In order to raise the level of these activities sufficiently to be able to convince our stakeholders quickly, the company has made it a rule to draw up plans based on relevant principles and execute them accordingly from FY 2006.

@The only reason why our products have been well accepted by customers ever since the inception of the company is because our predecessors, led by Chairman Kihachiro Onitsuka, were very serious in listening to customers' voices and pursuing possibilities through collaboration with academic experts and public officers. In promoting CSR activities, we also need to value communication with our stakeholders while aiming to make the world a better place. To do this, we will try to obtain honest opinions and proposals from different stakeholders and reflect them within our business activities. We sincerely hope that ties with our stakeholders will be strengthened in the process.

@ASICS will work hard to transform itself to become an indispensable partner for every stakeholder by fulfilling CSR, while continuing to offer the excitement and joy of playing sports through our business activities and products.
