Severe Over
Pronation is how a runner's foot rolls medially between footfall and toe-off. Underpronation is when the foot rolls outwards, overpronation is when it rolls inwards, and a neutral pattern is when little rolling occurs.

Matching a shoe's properties with the runner's running style will increase comfort, running efficiency, and contribute to decreasing the risk of injury.

ComforDry™ Sockliner

Removable sockliner that provides cushioning performance and moisture wicking for a cooler, dryer, healthier environment.

DuraSponge® Outsole

A blown AHAR® rubber compound for enhanced cushioning and durability in the forefoot.

Shoe Care

Shoe Care

Mud and dirt can be removed using a toothbrush, warm water and gentle, anti-grease soap. Apply light pressure when brushing to avoid damaging your shoe.

Do not wash your shoes in a washing machine. To help freshen the inside of your shoe, remove the sock-liner or insole and wash it separately. Laces can be washed or replaced.

Do not place your shoes in the dryer or near direct heat. The heat will alter the shape of the shoe. Instead, stuff the inside of your shoe with paper towels or newspaper. The paper will absorb the dampness inside the shoe.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from too different compared to the 8's I've been wearing Foundation 8's for some time, and as my last pair started getting worn, I ordered a pair of the 12's. I also wear custom orthotics as I have adult acquired flat feet. The 12's have different support and roll characteristics that are very different than the 8's, and other earlier models of the Foundations. After simply walking around in the 12's my feet were very sore. I had to send them back. The Gel Fortify seem to be working ok...and feel a lot more like what the Foundations used to feel. The new Foundations are too different from the previous models to be called Foundations. Too many changes for the worse.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good support but HOT I've been running in Foundations for about 10 years, so when my F8's gave up the F12's were next. I don't' care for the colours, but that's not why I buy these. The fit and support is the same for me as my previous Foundations, but these shoes are so hot. My feet are uncomfortably warm within 15 minutes. I'm wearing a thin smartwool running sock, but I don't think that's the issue. I'll probably wet my feet before my next run to see if that helps.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very dissapointed and in pain I have been wearing Asics for over 20 years. The foundations for at least 10. My last pair of Foundation 8s wore out and my only option was to get the "new" 12s. The new color choices were exciting! When I recieved them I put them on right away only to find they were too small! Ive worn the same size for 10 years! So I sent them back and patiently waited for my new pair to come. When they arrived I went for my evening run as usual. I made it half a mile. I was in so much pain. I tried tying them differently to no avail. I ran home barefoot (which felt 10 times better than wearing the shoes!!!) I am seriously considering going to a new brand. I am very upset with the changes that have been made. Not even close to the same shoe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shoe!!! In search for sneakers that help with my plantar fasciitis (and lots of money spent!), I have finally found a shoe that has helped tremendously! The Gel-Foundation 12 is very comfortable, with a cushioned sole and plenty of support to alleviate any foot pain I have been experiencing. I will be ordering another pair in the near future!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dissappointed I have many Asics shoes in the past for overpronation. These had a sloppy fit. one shoe was quite a bit wider than the other. I returned and switched to a Saucony running shoe that fit perfectly on both feet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great arch support, but too long I have used these for about three months (doing zumba, walking and just casually). I am very happy with the style, comfort and arch support (the feature I was most concerned with when buying them.) But future shoppers should know they run a little bit long. The width seems fine on my feet, but my heels slip slightly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from supportive and cushy I have worn gel foundation running shoes for 10 years. The 12 is different. -Its very cushy. I like this. If you tend to get shin splints and over pronate this is a great shoe. I don't like the new mesh in the forefoot. It looks weird.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best shoes I've ever had I have been walking and running since July. I had been having constant pain and pressure in my knees, legs, and feet. These feel like heaven to me! I have an over pronation and these make all the difference in the world.
