The standard (medium) width for women is B, while the standard width for men is D. Shoe boxes and labels will only identify widths other than standard. Within the shoes, wide and narrow widths are identified on the label, underneath the tongue — ie. T005N(2E).

When is additional width needed?
Visible stretching or bulging on the outsides of forefoot materials is a good indicator that additional width may be needed. These sizes are available in many of our Running and Training shoes. In some cases, men can wear women’s styles to achieve a narrow fit and women can wear men’s to get a wide. If this is needed, please use the references above to determine comparable size lengths. Please note that the differences of width between narrow, standard, wide, and extra wide are usually only a couple millimeters and are proportional to the size of the shoe. Most additional width will be found in the forefoot.

Pronation is how a runner's foot rolls medially between footfall and toe-off. Underpronation is when the foot rolls outwards, overpronation is when it rolls inwards, and a neutral pattern is when little rolling occurs.

Matching a shoe's properties with the runner's running style will increase comfort, running efficiency, and contribute to decreasing the risk of injury.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Designed only for "light" trail running I used it for light trail runs and it performed ok. When I took it to a trail race in the mountain I kept on falling because it did not have the grip needed to run fast on difficult trails.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OCR ready Ran the Spartan race at kualoa with these shoe. Be warned this is a "competition/precision" fit they will fit up to half size smaller than normal shoe size. Take into account your size preference race distance and how much you swell when purchasing. Also there is no rock plate or any motion control features. For an asics shoe this is very close to zero drop with a low heel stack. Shoe is extremely flexible with plenty of ground feel. I put these shoes beyond what I would consider the breaking point running through knee deep rivers with gravel and sharp rocks, followed up with the worst mud/clay/gravel and cow pasture grass you could imagine. Terrain was varied from flat land to a full ascent up a valley pass. They drained just as good as the "other brand" and held up much better with out delamination of the sole and upper splitting/tearing. Lug pattern is not overly aggressive and well provide excellent traction. I had zero "spike pressure" and the mud did release. Given the muck we had to run through I am surprised at how well the traction performed. Had zero problems with the wall climbs both regular and inverted. Bouldering wall I had no issue. Even some of the carry/lift/pull obstacles I had no problem with the shoe holding up to the added load. All in all a SUPERIOR shoe to the "other brand" with the same features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Got a non-runner to actually like running?! These running shoes are incredibly light. I take a size 8, and it weighs 7.5 ozs. My old Asics trainers are 9.5 ozs (actually weighed both!), so you can really feel the difference. I compared both on a treadmill. The other review was right. The grip is so much better. I use these for doing sprints on a treadmill and I am able to turn the speed up even faster for what feels like less effort. It has a slight under-pronation correction, which I just needed to get used to for a few minutes, but definitely more comfortable since I tend to plant on the outside edges of my feet. The fit seemed to run a little smaller by maybe an eighth to a quarter size than my old Asics of the same size, but fits like a glove, not feeling too tight. The little pocket to tuck your shoe laces into is a nice touch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Instantly faster I was instantly faster the first time I tried these shoes out. They will take a little while to adapt to, although they are supportive for a light weight race shoe, they are still a big adjustment from my usual Asics trainers. They feel so light and fast and have incredible grip, I can't wait to race in them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits like a glove I have bought Asics shoes for a last 8 + years and I must say these are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. For people with back issues this shoe WILL help. At least it has me.
