The standard (medium) width for women is B, while the standard width for men is D. Shoe boxes and labels will only identify widths other than standard. Within the shoes, wide and narrow widths are identified on the label, underneath the tongue — ie. T005N(2E).

When is additional width needed?
Visible stretching or bulging on the outsides of forefoot materials is a good indicator that additional width may be needed. These sizes are available in many of our Running and Training shoes. In some cases, men can wear women’s styles to achieve a narrow fit and women can wear men’s to get a wide. If this is needed, please use the references above to determine comparable size lengths. Please note that the differences of width between narrow, standard, wide, and extra wide are usually only a couple millimeters and are proportional to the size of the shoe. Most additional width will be found in the forefoot.

Severe Over
Pronation is how a runner's foot rolls medially between footfall and toe-off. Underpronation is when the foot rolls outwards, overpronation is when it rolls inwards, and a neutral pattern is when little rolling occurs.

Matching a shoe's properties with the runner's running style will increase comfort, running efficiency, and contribute to decreasing the risk of injury.

Product Details

This product runs a half-size smaller than previous models. We recommend sizing up a half-size for a more comparable fit. The GEL-Nimbus® 19 shoe features our revolutionary FlyteFoam™ Technology, for optimal comfort and a responsive ride for the neutral runner. A gradient jacquard-mesh upper is strategically tightened or loosened in zones to allow the foot's natural motion. 3D printed overlays provide seamless support to the upper. Weight: 8.9 oz. Heel Height: 25mm. Forefoot Height: 12mm.

Product Features

FlyteFoam® Midsole Technology

Our FlyteFoam technology provides exceptional bounce back and responsiveness no matter the distance, utilizing organic super fibers to help reduce packing out that traditionally happens with softer, low density foams.

FluidRide® Midsole

FluidRide® provides the ultimate combination of bounce back and cushioning properties with reduced weight and exceptional durability.

Rearfoot and Forefoot GEL® Cushioning Systems

Attenuates shock during impact and toe-off phases, and allows movement in multiple planes as the foot transitions through the gait cycle.

FluidFit® Upper

ASICS FluidFit® upper technology combines multi-directional stretch mesh with stretch reinforcements that adapt to the athlete's foot, creating a truly customized glove-like fit.

Heel Clutching System™ Technology

Exoskeletal heel counter provides improved support and creates improved heel fitting environment.

Seamless Construction

The use of seamless materials reduces the potential for irritation and friction caused by traditional stitches and seams.

Discrete Eyelets

Independently placed eyelets disburse lace tension, creating a customized fitting environment and enhanced upper comfort.

Guidance Trusstic System® Technology

This Trusstic System® integrates Guidance Line® construction for enhanced gait efficiency while providing midfoot structural integrity.

Guidance Line® Midsole Technology

Vertical flex groove decouples the tooling along the line of progression for enhanced gait efficiency.

ComforDry™ Lasting

This lasting material features plush underfoot comfort while providing excellent moisture management and a high level of breathability.

ComforDry™ X-40 Sockliner

This premium sockliner features higher rebound properties while providing excellent moisture management and a high-level of breathability.

Gender-Specific Cushioning

Women's models feature a lower-density top layer in the midsole, allowing female athletes to better enjoy the benefits of midsole compression.

Plus 3® Midsole Technology

3mm of additional height on women's models helps relieve achilles tension.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Miss the GEL-Nimbus 18 I loved my Nimbus 18 - ran my first marathon in them! I am not in love with the 19 yet; the toe bed feels tighter than the 18. My toes start to tingle after awhile. I'm not sure if I can run another marathon in the 19, but am going to run a Half this weekend in them; hoping for the best! I do love the cushion, that hasn't changed from 18.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SOO comfortable! I only wear Asics. My podiatrist recommended the brand years ago for my sore feet. I'm a nurse & if I don't take care of my feet, I'm miserable. These get my vote every time!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this shoe I bought the coral/dark purple and I love these shoes! The support is great! The coral color is more bright in person and I love that this shoe has only 2 colors versus the multiple color scheme. Tip: I ordered a half size bigger and they fit exact same as older shoes

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Weird Fit I usually wear Asics in a size 9, but ordered these in a 9.5 due to the many reviews mentioning how short the Nimbus 19 runs. The shoe was initially very comfortable right out of the box (I have narrow feet so a lot of shoes are too wide), but my toes started to go numb after walking around for a few minutes. I exchanged for a size 10. That pair fit well in the toe, but the rest of the shoe was way too wide for me. I ended up sending the shoes back for good. Bottom line: The fit is short, narrow, and just kind of weird. I did give 2 stars because the cushioning is really nice and I like the way the shoes look.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from What is up with this model? I've worn Gel Nimbus for over a decade now, so clearly they have worked for me in the past. But 3 weeks in and I have all sorts of foot pain in the balls of my feet and in my arches - pain I haven't had with other models. Like other reviewers said, I also had to half size up. Give me back that cushion!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WHY KEEP FIXING THINGS THAT AREN'T BROKEN!?!?! I started running a few years ago and went to the local running shop. I typically wear a size 8, but my running shoes typically are a 8.5. Asics was recommended due to my narrow heel and they have a more narrow heel cup. My foot would piston in other shoes. I went for max cushion in the Nimbus (over 35yrs old, my joints can't take the shock as well). I absolutely LOVED the Nimbus 17 (my first pair) and it was like running on clouds. when those began to wear, I ended up getting another pair of 17s. The following year I end up getting the 18s for my first marathon, since they were out of the 17. They didn't have quite the feeling of running on clouds anymore, but it sufficed. went to get a new pair and now the 19s are out - I was warned that they run narrow but the size 9s felt too big. the 8.5 were only a little snug. on my first run, both feet went numb within the first mile. on the next run, I didn't go fully numb, but it was a burning ache/ pre-numbness and my forefoot was screaming all 7 miles. Needless to say I am returning them and will have to look for an alternate brand as they completely changed the fit of something that people buy purely for the fit. I found a pair of 18s in my size for a decent price online. I don't see why I should pay the same amount for an older model as I do for a brand new....although I'd be willing to pay more for the 17s to come back!! and they aren't easy to find in the size I need. I HIGHLY recommend the Nimbus-17, somewhat recommend the Nimbus-18, and not at all recommend the Nimbus-19. Why make such modifications to the fit?? Change or upgrade the materials, but don't mess with the fit of it. I'm highly disappointed. If ANYONE knows of a shoe that is a similar fit and cushion to the Nimbus 17, PLEASE RESPOND. I hate to start all over on a shoe hunt and it is a waste of shoes as I try them for a week, return .... try a week, return.... try a week.... and it wastes my time on this search. I was so happy to start my running with an amazing shoe, and now don't know where to start.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not my Nimbus! I've been a Nimbus loyalist for about 6 years and I've loved every model..and I've loved the consistency in sizing and knowing I'm going to get a fantastic run out of the box. The 19s are way off on size, the color/style is really not attractive...I tried these a couple times and I put them in our "to donate" box. I feel like I'm wearing a different brand all together, I would give these 0 stars if I could.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I have a few colors in the Nimbus 18 and I loved them and still do. I bought the 19's since I was ready for a new pair but like everyone else they were so tight I went another half size up and they just don't have the comfort the 18's do. They hurt the ball of my foot so definitely not same comfort as the 18's. Sometimes i suffer from plantar fasciitis and The heel to toe mm has changed, I'm not sure if that has something to do with it but they don't feel anything like the 18's and sadly,I had to buy another pair of the 18's.
