The standard (medium) width for women is B, while the standard width for men is D. Shoe boxes and labels will only identify widths other than standard. Within the shoes, wide and narrow widths are identified on the label, underneath the tongue — ie. T005N(2E).

When is additional width needed?
Visible stretching or bulging on the outsides of forefoot materials is a good indicator that additional width may be needed. These sizes are available in many of our Running and Training shoes. In some cases, men can wear women’s styles to achieve a narrow fit and women can wear men’s to get a wide. If this is needed, please use the references above to determine comparable size lengths. Please note that the differences of width between narrow, standard, wide, and extra wide are usually only a couple millimeters and are proportional to the size of the shoe. Most additional width will be found in the forefoot.

The pressure is on smaller toes on outside of foot.

How Your Foot Contacts the Ground
The foot lands on outside of the heel, then rolls inward (pronates) to absorb shock and support body weight.
Push Off
There is even distribution from the front of the foot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very narrow Had several pairs of Nimbus 18 - they were super great. The 20s are very narrow width wise and seem to be cut smaller.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfort..the best I bought these a couple weeks ago. Fit is perfect and comfort is great. Only dissappointment is they have whay aopears to be a dark purple gel heel. The color said black/carbon which to me would have been solid black with some grey trim...which it does, but the gel heel looks purple in the light. I noticed some of the black ones in the stores also have a purple hue. Not sure if this was on purpose or it is the materials/dye lot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Improvement over the 19 After the fit fiasco that was the Nimbus 19, I bought as many Gel Nimbus 18 pairs on sale as I could afford. So when the Nimbus 20 was billed as having an “improved fit,” I was very curious to see how Asics had changed things for the better. The good: 1. The 20s fit MUCH better than the 19s. The toe box seems wider, and from what I understand, the design has been modified such that the forefoot isn’t jammed into the front of the shoe. 2. The durability of the 20s seems to be much improved over the 19s. I currently have 6 miles shy of the 300 mark on my Nimbus 20s, and they still seem pretty solid. Contrast that to 185 miles on my pair of 19s before I retired them. The bad (or, the “just not so good”): 1. No way around it: FlyteFoam is HARD. It seems cushy when walking around, but I really felt it after my first run. The good news is that after about 30-40 miles, the foam begins to soften a bit. 2. My left heel slipped quite a bit during the first 100 miles of wear of the shoe, after which time the slippage stopped. My left foot is somewhat smaller than my right, so this could just be me. 3. The fit is still somewhat tight compared to the Nimbus 17 and 18. The outside of my left foot is sore after a run due to tightness. Strangely, my right foot is fine after running. What I’d like to see: 1. A little bit more room, similar in fit to the 17 and 19 would be welcome. 2. Soften the Flytfoam a bit. Personally, I would like to see a return to the Nimbus 17 consistency. Even though the 17’s foam was VERY cushy, I was able to get over 400 miles on them before retiring them. All in all, the 20 is a “step” in the right direction back from the 19.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Inconsistent fit? Over-engineered? Defect? RE: T800N Vietnam, size 13US. F451117 PV. Fit is inconsistent. My right foot fits perfect. My left foot is loose and rubbing the soles of my foot. I'm 51, very athletic, and have never had a size problem between feet. Could be a defect? Further, the pads of both feet burn when standing. Both heels also feel like they are at the wrong angle. My heels ache over night. After wear, I am looking at the heels to see if the exoskeleton is consistent between feet. My comparative reference is my first pair of Asics purchased 6-9 months ago in Washington DC. T6A3N Vietnam. size 13US. F820816 FV. Those shoes fit great and were consistent over many months. To Asics: I'd appreciate a recommendation of shoe I can purchase in Thailand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like walking on clouds I am a ICU nurse and am on my feet 12 hours a day. I got these because my MD suggested them, and man was he right. Leg pain and back pain diminished. Go up a half size! I read the other reviews and it sounded like they ran a half small. So I went up a half. They fit beautifully. Great shoes! If I was still in the military I would love these for running!!
