The standard (medium) width for women is B, while the standard width for men is D. Shoe boxes and labels will only identify widths other than standard. Within the shoes, wide and narrow widths are identified on the label, underneath the tongue — ie. T005N(2E).

When is additional width needed?
Visible stretching or bulging on the outsides of forefoot materials is a good indicator that additional width may be needed. These sizes are available in many of our Running and Training shoes. In some cases, men can wear women’s styles to achieve a narrow fit and women can wear men’s to get a wide. If this is needed, please use the references above to determine comparable size lengths. Please note that the differences of width between narrow, standard, wide, and extra wide are usually only a couple millimeters and are proportional to the size of the shoe. Most additional width will be found in the forefoot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor heel fit These shoes seemed to fit ok but after walking about one mile I got blisters on my heels. If I wear them for short periods of time they are ok. I have had the same results on later walks. I do not know how to fix this problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unbelievably tight!!! I thought the reviews of people having tightness issues was just do to some people having larger or wider feet. I have super thin, flat feet, and these shoes are unbelievably tight! Even fully un-laced it is still tight across the entire toe area of the shoe. I wore them for a few hours but couldn't stand them any longer and had to take them off as they made my entire foot hurt. I currently have them sitting in the corner crammed full with anything I could find in hopes that they will stretch out enough to wear them. I have been wearing Asics for 20 years and have never had a problem with any of the Cumulus, Nimbus, or Kayano series shoes. I am beyond disappointed in the Quantum 360. Do yourself a favor and avoid this shoe! It will not fit you!! Trust me!!! ***Update*** These sat in the corner for 2 weeks with baseballs shoved all the way down to the toe of the shoe, while they've loosened up a tad, they are still barely comfortable enough to wear for more than a few hours. I can't imagine even trying to run or do anything active in them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 3.5 star I bought these last week. I can wear black to work, so a running shoe like this will fit under the radar. They seem ok for work and walking around although they feel like a firm plank that doesn't bend much from heel to toe. The very edges do flex, but the entire sole is pretty stiff. And if you buy 1/2 a size larger, you will find yourself stubbing your toe, or dragging your toe on the floor because the toe is sort of pointed even in your normal size. Going 1/2 a size larger will exaggerate it. But overall I like the shoe, its just slightly too stiff in the center. I like them enough to buy the Knit version and I probably will buy the knit version as soon as it arrives in the stores. Must try on first. Supposedly the "regular" Quantum is softer than the Shift. So, before I buy the Knit version, I took the Shift out for a run this weekend. I have been running for 20 years. And I noticed at the end of my 9 mile run that my feet were getting a bit hotter than usual and it is only 65 degrees outside. The reason for this is because the Shift has 2 layers of material on the inside and they do not breath very well. So, I do not recommend running in these shoes further than 5 miles. I am glad I bought these in black so I can just wear them at work. But for running, the new Knit verify may solve the lack of air breathing problem. Plus I think the regular Quantum 360 is supposed to be more flexible. It would have been nice to have more flexibility even in the office, with these black Shift's, because when you are walking, it may require more flexibility than running. I am not sure but I notice when I walk, my foot tends to slam down from heel to toe as I walk, and that is annoying and actually makes it difficult to walk. So hopefully the softer quantum 360 and the Knit version will solve both of these issues for me. By the way, it may be possible to cut-out the inner lining. The tongue is part of this inner lining, but I think you can cut out the sides and leave the tongue untouched, which will allow more air to come in. I have only run in them once. And wore them to work last week. So, maybe they will get more flexible as time goes on. Hard to say. They seem quite durable. Almost too durable. And if you buy even 1/2 a size larger for width, it may make them too long at the toe and seem too clunky. But I like the cushion. Probably even a bit more cushion is highly desirable for more than 7 miles. And for some reason, at the end of my 9 mile run, my toes were quite red. Maybe for heat or the shoe not flexing in the right spot and rubbing on my toes. It's the top of the shoe that pushes down. It is plenty long, but the top is pushing down and overall tightness in front ball of my foot, and I bought 1/2 a size larger (12). I tried on the 11.5 and I could not tell much difference at all. So, I got the 12's. So, who knows. Overall a great shoe, but needs some tweaking. I will be trying on the quantum 360 Knit. Hopefully they breathes more. If it is dual layer material, I won't be buying them. Just too hot for 65, I cant imagine 100 degree weather like we get in Dallas, TX. I rated these as average for "performance rating" because they get hot over a long run, and they do not flex in the right spot, but they do flex on the very edges because of the gel, which helps, but I think they tried to stiffen them up too much internally and while the Shift is soft-ish, it wont flex as much as desired from heel to toe. I know it seems odd to say that. But I think for shorter runs, they are above average and close to excellent. Short runs = 3 to 5 miles.
