Shoe Care

Shoe Care

CLEANING
Mud and dirt can be removed using a toothbrush, warm water and gentle, anti-grease soap. Apply light pressure when brushing to avoid damaging your shoe.

WASHING
Do not wash your shoes in a washing machine. To help freshen the inside of your shoe, remove the sock-liner or insole and wash it separately. Laces can be washed or replaced.

DRYING
Do not place your shoes in the dryer or near direct heat. The heat will alter the shape of the shoe. Instead, stuff the inside of your shoe with paper towels or newspaper. The paper will absorb the dampness inside the shoe.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Noo!!! Please bring back te previous versions! I had the gel solution speed and speed2. Both great shoes. This one is a nightmare and lost all the advantages of its older sisters. They are heavy, rigid, and not as breathable. Remove this plastic and bring back the mesh. The narrow size was also great!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why did you mess with perfection? I have worn the gel solution speed since the first version. I felt 1 and 2 were pretty close and couldn't detect any changes from 1 to 2. I loved the low profile, yet room in the toe with very little break in. The colors year over years were great too. I had three pairs of 2 I was rotating but got to the point of needing to replace. Along come the 3s. The sizing is not the same (at least 1/2 size smaller) and they feel way too stiff. There is more plastic on the shoe in general, which I think adds to the stiffness. And can I say not. They don't breath at all. I am more than disappointed that Asics replaced the 2 with the 3 and the colors aren't that great either. I have searched high and low for new 2s. To no avail. I think, unfortunately, I will have to abandon Asics for a different brand after being a loyal customer for years. So, so sad. Maybe you will listen to your customers and bring back the 2.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Shoe I returned these after wearing them for ONE match. The Speed 2 was perfection. The Speed 3 is THE WORST tennis shoe I have ever worn. Not sure why the design was changed, but thanks for the blisters and pain! I'm just very lucky that my local retailer gave me 100% of my money back after wearing the shoe. I'm going to hunt down some 2's and stock up!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why did the mess with a great thing?? I could not agree more with the negative reviews. I am a loyal wearer of AIsics. The Speed 2's were as close to perfect as you could come...them came the 3! They are heavy, stiff, hot, not at all the same shoe I have blisters on my toes/ i play 8 to ten hours per week. Aisics please bring back the 2!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bring Back the Speed 2s I so wished I would have heeded the reviews of the Speed 3s. Like many others, I have owned several pair of the speed 2s and loved them every minute I wore them. playing tennis. The speed 3s felt fine in the store, but the first time I played in them, the pain was excruciating! Blisters formed on the tops of my tops on my left foot. My feet were burning up and they are so uncomfortable. I tried them 5 or 6 more times with the same disastrous results. I'm back wearing an old pair of 2s and looking for a new shoe! Wow, what did the designers do???

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Why mess with a good thing? I am (or was) a loyal ASICS customer. I loved my GEL-Solution Speed 2 shoes; they were light, comfortable, and took no time to break in. When it came time to get new shoes this season, I went with the Speed 3. They seemed fine when I tried them on at the pro shop, but after four matches I have blisters/bruises on my ankle bones. The new cut of the shoe is much too high at the ankle. Why did ASICS change the shoe last? I've done everything I can to break in the sides, but the material is too stiff to give in. I love the look of the shoes, and I get tons of compliments (I have the blue/white/pink color splash model) but if I can't wear them to play tennis, what's the point? I really hope ASICS goes back to the old last and corrects the cut of the ankle, otherwise, I'll need to find a new tennis shoe company.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the Same Shoe I agree with the other reviews. The old model was great...wish I would have stocked up. The new version has a narrow toe box does not breath and top of shoe cuts into my ankle. Sadly I will no longer be wearing asics on the courts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for movers I have worn the Speeds for years. I just bought two pairs of the Speed 3's. I have a narrow heel and foot. These shoes give me the best support. My heel stays put, giving me the freedom to run around. I play 3 hours of doubles a day, five days a week, minimum, at about a 4.5 level. I used to wear Asics when I was a runner. It's the same great fit brought to tennis shoes. I do wish the neon, tutti fruity colors would be retired in favor of more sporty colors (ie: no more pink, purple and orange!). I bought the Resolutions just because they were blue with red accents. It's a great shoe, but fits wider than the Solution, which is not as good for me.
