The standard (medium) width for women is B, while the standard width for men is D. Shoe boxes and labels will only identify widths other than standard. Within the shoes, wide and narrow widths are identified on the label, underneath the tongue — ie. T005N(2E).

When is additional width needed?
Visible stretching or bulging on the outsides of forefoot materials is a good indicator that additional width may be needed. These sizes are available in many of our Running and Training shoes. In some cases, men can wear women’s styles to achieve a narrow fit and women can wear men’s to get a wide. If this is needed, please use the references above to determine comparable size lengths. Please note that the differences of width between narrow, standard, wide, and extra wide are usually only a couple millimeters and are proportional to the size of the shoe. Most additional width will be found in the forefoot.

Push Off
There is even distribution from the front of the foot.
Considered Injuries
Less likely due to effective shock absorption, but neutral runners are not immune to injury.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable Asics has always been my favorite brand of sport shoe. The Gel-Nimbus 20 is comfortable on my feet. Keep up the good work!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good buy I bought these as I have a simular pair for the gym. I paid extra and went the distance thinking they would have even more cushion. They are comfortable to a point but not worth the extra price. If looking to buy, I'd suggest to save your money and get the GEL-NEO33 Asics. Shipment was right on time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very narrow Had several pairs of Nimbus 18 - they were super great. The 20s are very narrow width wise and seem to be cut smaller.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfort..the best I bought these a couple weeks ago. Fit is perfect and comfort is great. Only dissappointment is they have whay aopears to be a dark purple gel heel. The color said black/carbon which to me would have been solid black with some grey trim...which it does, but the gel heel looks purple in the light. I noticed some of the black ones in the stores also have a purple hue. Not sure if this was on purpose or it is the materials/dye lot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Walking on pillows! I’m a big guy (300lbs) so I have to have comfortable shoes. The Nimbus 20 is the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. Thank you Asics!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great running shoes, accurate sizing These shoes have great forefoot and heel cushion, which is important for underpronators and neutral runners. Lining is soft and fits like a sock. I also like the heel not being too high. Adidas Supernova I had before them had the heel too high and lacked good forefoot cushion, both of which could lead to injuries. I like the style and the availability of the all-black color option. Important comment of the accuracy of sizing: Some reviewers have claimed that these shoes are too small for their given size. This is absolutely not true. Their sizing is actually extremely accurate. Therefore, do not buy an oversized shoe based on these reviews. They are exactly the same size as my Adidas Supernova shoes, which are known to be of accurate size. My guess is that these reviewers are used to oversized shoes. If you buy an oversize shoe, it could lead the injuries just as an undersized shoe could. If you are not sure, try them in the store. Simple rule of thumb: If the shoe feels tight, it's too tight. If the shoe feels loose, it's too lose. It should not feel tight at all or loose at all. If it feels tight or loose, use the next size. Don't attempt to correct a loose shoe by overtightening the laces. Also, don't rely on artificial rules saying there should be an inch or more gap in front of your toe etc., which could lead you to buy the wrong size. Athletic shoes need to be the perfect size -- neither loose nor tight.
