ASICS renews partnership with Australian Olympic Commitee

ASICS is named the official performance footwear and apparel partner for the 2023 Pacific Games, 2024 Paris Olympic Games and the 2026 Youth Olympic Games.

ASICS, the true sport performance brand, has renewed its partnership with the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) as the official performance footwear and apparel partner, until 2026.

Following the success of the Australian Olympic Team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, ASICS will provide the performance kit for Australia’s elite athletes at the 2023 Pacific Games, 2024 Paris Olympic Games, and the 2026 Youth Olympic Games.

The partnership renewal reflects ASICS’ continued commitment to creating cutting edge apparel and footwear that empowers athletes to perform at their best, whilst sporting the iconic green and gold.

ASICS will supply the Australian Olympic Team with an innovative and sustainable selection of products across sports competition and training apparel, casual leisure wear and related footwear.

Upon extending the ASICS partnership, AOC Chief Executive Officer, Matt Carroll, said, “We are thrilled to have ASICS renew the partnership with the Australian Olympic Team for the next four years, confirming a great partnership in sport.

ASICS joins Marathon effort to make Sydney the next Great Global Marathon

Sydney Marathon and ASICS today announced a six-year sponsorship deal that will make the true sports performance brand the official footwear and apparel partner and presenting partner of the Sydney Marathon.

An official sponsor of Sydney Marathon for 16 years, this new multi-year partnership will comprise significant brand integration, on-site and in-store event activations, digital and social content, broadcast integrations and online retail promotions, as the two brands build on their rich history together.

A Candidate Race for the prestigious Abbott World Marathon Majors (AbbottWMM) Sydney Marathon enters its second year of a multi-year evaluation process by AbbottWMM in 2023.

To become a Major, the Sydney Marathon will be required to meet strict criteria two years in a row over the evaluation period to be successful, after which the event will join an esteemed group of races - Tokyo Marathon, Boston Marathon, TCS London Marathon, BMW-BERLIN Marathon, Bank of America Chicago Marathon and TCS New York City Marathon - as a new member of the prestigious Abbott World Marathon Majors in 2025.

Renowned globally as a bucket list event, Sydney Marathon returns to Sydney’s stunning shores on Sunday 17 September 2023. The event attracts some of the world’s greatest marathon runners and wheelchair athletes, to run and wheel across the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge traffic-free, on their journey to the spectacular finish line at Sydney Opera House. It is the only World Athletics Platinum Label marathon in the southern hemisphere and the presence of these elite international athletes is expected to draw significant interest in the event, and act as a drawcard for age group and recreational runners.

Asics Extend Partnership With Rugby Australia Through Till 2025

ASICS, the true sport performance brand, has renewed it’s partnership with Rugby Australia for a further six years. The new contract will come into effect as of 2020, with the deal continuing until the end of 2025. 

The updated deal is an extension of the original contract signed back in 2014, where ASICS became the official apparel and footwear supplier of Rugby Australia. 

The contract extension means the QANTAS Wallabies will wear ASICS at not only international tournaments in Japan next year and France in 2023, but will also be kitted out in ASICS when the British & Irish Lions travel to Australia for their tour in 2025. 

Rugby Australia Chief Executive, Raelene Castle said: “Through this partnership extension ASICS has given a strong vote of confidence in Australian Rugby by committing for the long haul as we look forward to a number of exciting major tournaments and tours over the coming years across all of our national teams. 

“Our athletes are proud to wear the ASICS brand and we are delighted that we can continue to work with ASICS to carry on the traditions of our game and elevate the performance of our national teams through the next two Rugby international tournaments in Japan in 2019 and France in 2023, the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020 and the Women’s Rugby international tournaments in 2021 and 2025.” 

Under the new partnership, all Australian Rugby teams, including the QANTAS Wallabies, Men’s and Women’s Sevens, Wallaroos and Under 20s teams will wear ASICS apparel and footwear, with the ASICS logo appearing on jerseys and training kit. 

Through this extended deal ASICS will continue to work closely with sponosred athletes in the Men’s and Women’s 7s teams inclduing Henry Hutchison, Charlotte Caslick and Emilee Cherry, to gain vital feedback on products; as well as Wallabies Israel Folau, Bernard Foley and Adam Coleman.
