Energy savings are an important component for trail runners traversing across long distances, which is why we applied GUIDESOLE technology to the TRABUCO MAX trail shoe. This trail running shoe provides improved cushioning and traction while allowing runners to cover more terrain with less effort.

GUIDESOLE technology is a sole construction that consists of a responsive toe spring that's scientifically proven to save energy over the long run. Thanks to the reduced load placed on the limbs from foot-strike to toe-off, this technology gives trail runners more potential to run further since they'll use less energy to cover the same distance.

Traction is a necessary component for running off-road, which is why we have incorporated ASICSGRIP technology in the outsole. This rubber compound is functional for providing traction, especially amongst wet and slippery conditions. Incorporated into the ASICSGRIP outsole, we applied an uphill and downhill lug pattern for improved agility when navigating varying topography.

We also wanted to provide advanced comfort and cushioning for runners that are out on the trail for hours at a time. Adding 28mm of FLYTEFOAM technology under the heel and 23mm under the forefoot, this shoe provides excellent cushioning. Because of the high stack height, stones and roots will be better absorbed by the midsole. The combination of a smooth forward rolling motion, improved cushioning, and better traction makes the TRABUCO MAX shoe a great training partner for a variety of trail running workouts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable at the toe and grippy Took a day to get used to them. Now they fit very well. - cpmfortable at toe width (unlike Hoka). The instant lace tie needs to be carefully inserted into its pocket to avoid falling out to one side. Only downside so far: they over-grip on some types of city roads or depots, with potential ankle twisting. Looking forward to wearing them my next long hiking trial.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Make sure you don't have flat feet..... I have flat feet and ASICS are the only brand that fit. I have a pair of trabuco 9 gtx that fit nicely (even though the gtx treatment renders the upper brittle, making it tear after only a couple of months use). I assumed the max would also fit.... The elevated sole has a chamfered rim between the upper and sole to give the extra height and cushioning BUT this means that the toebox is now too narrow for my feet. What a fail! Why don't ASICS make trail shoes for pronators? Double fail. This critical review is highly likely to win the prize draw. /s

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Long distance shoe Great shoe, very comfy, seems slightly narrower in toe box than other Asics of same size, so plus half size for me in this shoe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, so good I'm new to trail running, mainly road running in the past, but wanted a pair of trainers with max cushioning as I suffer with sciatica. So far I'm very pleased with Trabuco Max. Very comfortable and fit is excellent. Not fussed about the sports laces, but they aren't causing me any problems. Usual excellent service from Ascis Outlet. Second pair of running shoes bought this year from them. Good prices and good service. What more could you ask for.
