The 10th anniversary of the GT-1000™(Extra Wide) running shoe takes a big step forward in what this model stands for. The previous edition set the stage in providing intrinsic value with the midsole, allowing this update to focus on the upper. Designed for the runner with an active lifestyle, they're seeking a lightweight everyday trainer with excellent cushioning. Functional for those who require more room in their footwear, the width in this model is wider to provide a more accommodating fit.
The upper has been reimagined with a new engineered mesh that adjusts to your foot's natural shape while providing a comfortable midfoot hold. With the addition of an integrated support system, this application improves the heel fit and creates a more secure feel. Following a more sustainable design approach, this shoe also uses fewer resources to color the sockliner.
Featuring a layer of GEL™ technology cushioning in the heel to improve shock absorption, the shoe also integrates a FLYTEFOAM™ midsole material that offers a softer and more supportive feeling at footstrike. Lastly, the DUOMAX™ support system consists of a firmer density of foam placed on the medial side of the midsole to help reduce the foot's pronounced inward roll (overpronation) while improving stability.
For men the standard shoe width is D, going up to a wide fitting 2E and the widest a 4E. In New Zealand the most common shoe width size* for men is a 2E. Find out more about widths.

Pronation is part of the natural movement of the human body and refers to the way your foot rolls inward for impact distribution upon landing. Understanding your pronation type can help you find a comfortable running shoe. The GT-1000 10 (4E EXTRA WIDE) is made for Overpronation.
Low arches or flat feet
Big toe and second toe do majority of the work.
The foot lands on outside of heel, then rolls inward (pronates) excessively, transferring weight to inner edge instead of ball of the foot.
Strategically positioned in critical areas of the outsole, this exceptionally durable compound is 50% more durable than standard ASICS High Abrasion Rubber.
A dual-density midsole system positioned to enhance support and stability.
A technical mesh material that stretches in multiple directions, creating a glove, snug like fit that provides a unique balance of comfort and fit.
Our lightest midsole ever. Its organic fibres bounce back into its original shape in the space of each stride to provide perfect cushioning from the start of your run to the finish.
Reduces impact during heel strike and allows for a smooth transititon. Shape of units designed for special function under the heel of the foot.
Longitudinal groove that decouples tooling along the line of progression for enhanced gait efficiency.
This premium sockliner features higher rebound properties while providing excellent moisture management and a high-level of breathability
