The GLIDERIDE™ shoe lets you run longer while expending less energy.GUIDESOLE™ technology in this sole is the key function in the GLIDERIDE™ shoe. Here is how it works: Improved cushioning reduces muscle load at foot strike. It does this with a combination of FLYTEFOAM® technology and GEL® technology cushioning. The stiff forefoot and dynamically curved sole increase running efficiency by reducing the movement of the ankle joint. A lower degree of ankle flexion means other muscles, such as the calf, don’t have to work as hard. Too much ankle movement at speed wastes energy. The shoe’s center of mass is closer to the heel, so it’s easier to swing the foot forward. The rolling motion you feel in this shoe actually propels the foot forward for increased efficiency by reducing the forward movement of the ankle. This lets you run farther with less effort. These characteristics give runners an experience unlike anything they’ve felt before. The GLIDERIDE™ shoe with GUIDESOLE™ technology lets you conserve energy for efficient runs. It’s something you have to feel to believe.
Pronation is part of the natural movement of the human body and refers to the way your foot rolls inward for impact distribution upon landing. Understanding your pronation type can help you find a comfortable running shoe. The GLIDERIDE is made for Neutral.
Normal size arches
There is even distribution from the front of the foot.
How your foot contacts the ground
The foot lands on outside of the heel, then rolls inward (pronates) to absorb shock and support body weight.
The curved sole design and stiff forefoot of our GUIDESOLE™ technology reduce ankle flexion and provide a shock-absorbent landing zone to lessen fatigue of other leg muscles and increase runner efficiency.
Rearfoot GEL® technology cushioning system
Attenuates shock during impact phase and allows for a smooth transition to midstance.
FlyteFoam® Midsole Technology
Our FlyteFoam® technology provides exceptional bounce back and responsiveness no matter the distance, utilizing organic super fibers to help reduce packing out that traditionally happens with softer, low density foams.
Engineered Mesh Upper
Multi-directional mesh material improves ventilation and stability.
FlyteFoam® Propel Technology
ASICS energetic foam formulation that provides supreme bounce thanks to a unique elastomer compound.

The best running shoe I’ve ever ownedas a competitive cross country and track runner it’s hard out to find a good shoe that really is better than good. Our school’s running program really takes it to the next level, competing at Nike Nationals for XC and New balance nationals for track and field. Our runners are running sub 4:30 miles, 49 second 400s, and setting the national record for the 500m. All of us love this shoe and will continue to buy it.

Walking man from
Gliding the GlideRideI am an exercise walker, not a runner. I gave these shoes a go. They are the most comfortable Asics I have. I wear the Nimbus 21 (and now 22) to the gym. In comparison to the GlideRide, they seem clunky by comparison. These have an extra spring when fast walking which helps me walk faster. I have a fused left ankle, thus a different gait. These seem to help keep my knees pain free. Glad I bought these.

Hot SpotsMy usual running shoe is the Kayano and wanted a little more cushion so decided to give these a shot. First 5K started out great great cushion and could really feel the energy in this shoe BUT after about 3K the balls of my feet started to get hot and by the end of my run it was really unbearable. I have tried different insoles and lightning up the laces, made it better but did not eliminate. Hope it gets better as they break in.
