Rules and Regulations


General

  1. ASICS Relay series (“AR”) 2019 is owned by ASICS Asia Pacific (the “Owner” or “AAP”) and organised by Infinitus Productions Pte Ltd (the “Race Organiser”) in accordance with these Rules & Regulations (the “R&Rs”), applicable to all the participants (each a “Participant”, collectively the “Participants”), which can be found at www.asicsrelay.com (the “Official Website”).
  2. By accessing and continuing to access any part of the Official Website, including to register for the AR, submitt information to AAP, the Race Organiser and/or the relevant business partners, whether for the purpose of registering for the AR or otherwise, as well as using any features of the Official Website, you signify that you have read, understood and agree to the terms of this R&Rs.
  3. Completion of the online race registration form confirms the Participant’s agreement and acceptance to abide by these R&Rs.
  4. Registration for the AR is only confirmed upon payment of the relevant registration fee and issuance of a race confirmation slip.
  5. After registration, there shall be no refund of any registration fees to any Participant who does not in due course take part in the AR, for any reason whatsoever.
  6. Once registration is confirmed, a Participant is strictly NOT ALLOWED to:-
    (a) transfer his/her race entry to another party; or
    (b) participate under other person’s name or number.
  7. AAP and Race Organiser reserves the right to modify or substitute any of these R&Rs from time to time as they deem fit. If there is ambiguity in any of these provisions, AAP shall be the sole authority to interpret them and in so doing, it may take into account the interests of all affected Participants. Any amendments to these R&Rs will be updated on the Official Website.
  8. AAP and the Race Organiser reserve the right to delay, cancel or change any details of the AR or any component of it at any time without prior notice to the Participants. In such cases, every effort will be made to inform the Participants prior to the day / date of the event of AR. If AR or any component of it is cancelled, there shall be no refund of registration fees paid. AAP and the Race Organiser shall not be liable for any consequential loss or inconvenience caused.
  9. The Race Organiser reserves the right to amend the AR race routes as they deem fit for the safety of the Participants and/or to prevent any potential hazards in the running of the AR, at any time without prior notice to the Participants. In such cases, every effort will be made to inform the Participants prior to the day / date of the event of AR. AAP and the Race Organiser shall not be liable for any consequential loss or inconvenience caused.

Personal Data Protection

  1. For the purposes of this R&Rs, “personal data” means data, whether true or not, about an individual who can be identified from that data, or from that data and other information to which the organisation has or is likely to have access. 
  2. When registering for the AR, a Participant will provide us with his or her personal data. During such registration, the Participant agrees to: (i) provide true, accurate, current and complete personal data about himself/herself in the registration form and (ii) maintain and promptly update the personal data provided to ensure it stays true, accurate, current and complete. AAP and/or the Race Organiser may contact the Participant from time to time by email and/or SMS. Any notice sent to the email address and/or SMS sent to the telephone number registered for the AR via the online race registration form shall be deemed as received by the Participant.
  3. If a Participant provides any information that is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete or if the Race Organiser has grounds to suspect that such information is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, the Race Organiser may suspend or terminate the Participant’s registration.
  4. By completing the registration with the Official website for AR, a Participant hereby consents to AAP’s, the Race Organiser’s and/or the relevant business partners’ collecting, using and/or disclosing your personal data for the following purposes: -
      • to facilitate the Participant’s registration for the AR, including to verify the Participant’s identity;
      • to provide the Participant with information on the AR, including key information such as race pack collection details, race details and/or updates to the AR;
      • to manage the administrative and business operations of AAP, the Race Organisers, and other relevant business partners;
      • to conduct and manage the AR, including for matters relating to promotional and the marketing of the AR; and
      • for any other purposes as set out in AAP’s Privacy Policy https://www.asics.com/sg/en-sg/privacy-policy.
  5. Photographs, videos, motion pictures, images, recordings and other forms of recordings (“Recordings”) may be taken during the AR, and hence a Participant may be captured in these Recordings. Such Recordings may be used for the purposes of marketing, advertising, and other promotional purposes related to the AR (including to promote any further events which may be held after the AR). However, AAP, the Race Organiser and/or the relevant business partners shall not be responsible for any Recordings which are not taken by AAP, the Race Organiser, and/or the relevant business partners during the AR.
  6. A Participant may withdraw his or her consent to the collection, use, and/or disclosure of his or her personal data by AAP, the Race Organiser and/or the relevant business partners. However, depending on the nature of such withdrawal, a withdrawal of consent could result in the inability of AAP, the Race Organiser and/or the relevant business partners from allowing you to participate in the AR. In all situations of a withdrawal, we will inform you of the legal consequences of such withdrawal. Safety

  1. Whilst reasonable precaution will be taken to ensure the Participant’s safety, the Participant takes part in AR at his/her own risk. To the greatest extent permitted by the law, AAP and the Race Organiser shall not be held liable for any loss, damage to property, personal injury or death howsoever arising in connection with the AR. Each Participant is strongly encouraged to consult his/her medical practitioner prior to the registration of AR and before the actual race day.
  2. A Participant shall retire from the AR immediately if required to do so by any member official medical staff, Event officials, referee and/or security officer.

Warrant and Indemnification

  1. By completing the registration with the Official website for AR, Participant hereby represents, warrants and undertakes to APP the following: -
    1. The Participant does not have any medical condition that would affect his or her safety or physical well-being;
    2. The Participant is medically and physically fit and competent to participate in the AR; and
    3. The Participant fully abide by these R&Rs stipulated herein and any applicable laws. 
  2. The Participant (including the heirs, successors and assigns) agrees to hold AAP, Race Organiser, Sponsors, appointed officials/suppliers (each an 'Indemnified Party') harmless and keep each Indemnified Party fully and effectively indemnified from and against any and all losses, costs (including legal costs on a full indemnity basis), claims, damage and expenses whatsoever which any of them may incur (directly or indirectly) as a result of the breach of the Participant of any of these R&Rs.
  3. These R&Rs shall be governed under Singapore laws and the Participant agrees to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.

Race Categories

  1. Participants can choose to participate either as part of a team of 2 or 4. The race categories for team participation are as follows:

    Relay Team of 4
    1. 21.1km Half Marathon (Male/Female/Mixed)
    2. 42.195km Full Marathon (Male/Female/Mixed)

    Buddy of 2


    • 21.1km Half Marathon (Male/Female/Mixed)

Age Requirements

  1. 21.1km Half Marathon (Male/Female/Mixed)
    1. A Participant must be 16 years and above on race day to participate in the 21.1km Half Marathon.
  2. 42.195km Full Marathon (Male/Female/Mixed)
    1. A Participant must be 16 years and above on race day to participate in the 42.195km Full Marathon.
  3. Any Participant below the age of 18 is required to seek parental/guardian consent and complete the relevant indemnity and declaration forms when registering online or in-person failing which the Race Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry to that Participant.
  4. For the avoidance of doubt, the Participant’s age will be deemed to be his/her age as of 2019.

Entitlements

  1. T-shirt sizes are subject to availability.
  2. All participants will receive a finisher medal at the end of their run.

Race

  1. Participants are to assemble in their respective starting point based on their race category.
  2. The form on the reverse side of the Participants’ race bib must be fully and accurately completed. Participants must attach the assigned bib on the front of their running attire. Participants not wearing a bib will be taken off the race route by security officers or route marshals.
  3. Pets, bicycles, in-line skates, prams, push carts, shoes with built-in or attached rollers and any other wheel-run objects are not allowed on the race route.
  4. The Organiser strongly encourages all participants to deposit their bulky belongings at the ‘Baggage Deposit Booth’ before entering the start pen. For security reasons, only bags that are smaller than 20cm x 15cm are permitted on the race route.
  5. For safety reasons, AAP and the Race Organiser restrict the following persons from participating in the AR:-
    (a) mothers running with their babies in baby carriers; or
    (b) expectant mothers unless the expectant mothers provide a medical certificate from a qualified gynaecologist in Singapore (other than the expectant mother or her family member) and certify she is fit to participate in the AR. The certificate should be dated within seven days of the AR.
  6. Any Participant who commences before the actual start time of the race category for which he/she registered in will be disqualified. The start time for the respective race categories can be found on the Official Website.
  7. A participant who does not start within 30 minutes from his/her respective flag off point will be disqualified and for safety reasons, shall not be allowed to start.
  8. AAP and the Race Organiser will not be responsible for any loss and/or damage to the belongings and items deposited at the event baggage storage facility. The Race Organiser also reserves the right to open and examine any item or baggage deposited for security purpose.
  9. The “Gun Time” will be considered to determine the winners except for the non-competitive categories. “Gun Time” shall be the time from the start signal until the Participant crosses the finishing line.
  10. AAP reserves the right to replace any winner if he/she is found to be disqualified.

Race Entry Pack Collection

  1. All Participants must collect their race entry pack (the “Race Entry Pack”) which includes the race bib, AR t-shirt and other novelties at the Race Entry Pack Collection location during the collection period (“Collection Period”). Details will be posted on the Official Website in due course.
  2. Participants may empower a duly authorised representative to collect the Race Entry Pack on their behalf in accordance with the procedure detailed on the Official Website if they are unable to collect it in person.
  3. It is the responsibility of the Participant to collect her Race Entry Pack during the Collection Period. Late collection will not be entertained and the Race Organiser shall not be liable for any other loss or inconvenience caused due to Participants’ inability to collect their Race Entry Pack. The Race Organiser is also not obliged to extend the Collection Period or to ensure that a Participant receives her Race Entry Pack. Race Entry Packs not collected during the Collection Period will be deemed to be unwanted, and the Race Organiser shall be at liberty to dispose or re-distribute them accordingly. Participants without their race bibs (which can be found in the Race Entry Packs) are strictly not allowed to start the race.
