Product Details

With an increased landing surface to accommodate every foot strike, the premium feel and fit of the GEL-CUMULUS® 20 men's performance running shoe produces a gentler, more comfortable ride as you run further than ever before. Featuring FLYTEFOAM® propel technology for optimal bounce-back, a full-ground contact outsole for smoother heel-to-toe movement and SPeVA® insole material that provides ample room in the ball girth and toe area. The new rolled collar provides a sleeker silhouette, while the ORTHOLITE® sockliner and GEL® technology cushioning system mean you can go the extra mile in comfort.

Pronation

Pronation is part of the natural movement of the human body and refers to the way your foot rolls inward for impact distribution upon landing. Understanding your pronation type can help you find a comfortable running shoe. The GEL-Cumulus 20 is made for Underpronation and Neutral.
  • Under
  • Neutral
  • Over

Underpronation

  • Foot Type

    High arches
  • Push Off

The pressure is on smaller toes on outside of foot.
  • How your foot contacts the ground

The outer side of the heel hits the ground at an increased angle with little or no normal pronation, causing a large transmission of shock through the lower leg.

Neutral

  • Foot Type

    Normal size arches
  • Push Off

There is even distribution from the front of the foot.
  • How your foot contacts the ground

The foot lands on outside of the heel, then rolls inward (pronates) to absorb shock and support body weight.

Product Features

  • I.G.S® (Impact Guidance System) Technology
ASICS design philosophy that employs linked componentry to enhance the foot's natural gait from heel strike to toe-off.
  • FlyteFoam® Propel Technology
ASICS energetic foam formulation that provides supreme bounce thanks to a unique elastomer compound.
  • FlyteFoam® Midsole Technology
Our FlyteFoam® technology provides exceptional bounce back and responsiveness no matter the distance, utilizing organic super fibers to help reduce packing out that traditionally happens with softer, low density foams.
  • FluidRide® Midsole
ASICS FluidRide® midsole provides the ultimate combination of bounce back and cushioning properties with reduced weight and exceptional durability.
  • Rearfoot and Forefoot GEL® Technology Cushioning System
Attenuates shock during impact and toe-off phases, and allows movement in multiple planes as the foot transitions through the gait cycle.
  • Guidance Line® Midsole Technology
Vertical flex groove decouples the tooling along the line of progression for enhanced gait efficiency.
  • Seamless Construction
The use of seamless materials reduces the potential for irritation and friction caused by traditional stitches and seams.
  • Discrete Eyelets
Independently placed eyelets disperse lace tension, creating a customized fitting environment and enhanced upper comfort.
  • AHAR® Outsole
Acronym for ASICS High Abrasion Rubber. Placed in critical areas of the outsole for exceptional durability.
  • Ortholite Sockliner
  • SpevaFoam™ 45 Lasting
Employs 45 degree full length SpevaFoam™ 45 lasting material for a soft platform feel and improved comfort.
  • Reflectivity
Contains reflective materials designed to enhance visibility during low light hours.
  • Ortholite® Sockliner
Moisture management (Ortholite is a registered trademark of ATP Manufacturing LLC).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Asics Gel-Cumulus 20 Two days ago this shoe would have been 5 stars! Three previous pairs have been very comfortable for at least 350 miles before they were worn out. Unfortunately I can't post photos here to show where the foam in the sole of the left shoe split at the inside of the rear heel pad. The rear heel pad is pulling away from the sole of the shoe and the foam has 3/4" tear in it. This happened after only 80 miles and I am not a heel striker. This is my (3rd) pair of Cumulus 20's this year along with (2) Gel-Nimbus 21 and (2) pair Gel Venture 6. In addition, I just bought myself (3) more pairs of the GEL-Cumulus 20 for my Christmas present to myself. I am seriously considering eating the cost of the return shipping and sending these (3) new pairs back because of this issue. I have been faithful to the Asics brand since I bought my first pair as an 11 year-old in 1973 when they were known as ONITSUKA TIGER. Hopefully this is an isolated incident but it really sucks when you are on a budget.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Narrower than any advertised! Bought these in a standard width but they are anything but standard. Too narrow and nowhere near the standard width of all my other Asics shoes. If you have a really narrow foot, these might work but standard width is really a narrow width in this shoe. Really unfortunate as I was looking forward to using these but cannot do so since they are way too tight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GEL-Cumulus 20 Only a few runs in so far, but a great shoe. Have been running in all models of ASICS for 25+ years. All are good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love these shoes I am sorry I could only give these shoes 5 stars. I would have gladly given them more. Great shoes, I have been wearing them for years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needs to be a bit stiffer The "tongue" is a bit soft - tends to curl when you try and get your foot in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Will not go to any other brand I love the shoes, finaly my heels dosent hurt any more. My only concern is the front which is too narrow, I wish they had the wider so my toes dosent squeeze.
