How your foot contacts the ground
The foot lands on outside of the heel, then rolls inward (pronates) to absorb shock and support body weight.

The GEL-DS TRAINER™ 26 running shoe is the recommended choice for runners covering shorter distances who want to go fast. The shoe helps you achieve those running goals with an improved upper fit that moves seamlessly with the runner's natural motion. Updated with a soft and flexible knit upper, this application helps the shoe move more naturally with the runner's foot. Accented with a series of reflective details, this design element is practical for runners who are training in low-light conditions. Added support stems from the updated sockliner, which naturally contours to the foot's shape while improving comfort. Following a more sustainable design approach, this shoe also uses fewer resources to color the sockliner. Functional for overpronators, the shoe's DUOMAX® technology on the midsole's medial side helps reduce the foot's pronounced inward roll and improves support. GEL® technology cushioning improves shock absorption, while the FLYTEFOAM® midsole material provides a soft and supportive feel from footstrike to toe-off. The PROPULSION TRUSSTIC™ technology in the outsole mirrors the foot's ligaments, creating a powerful lever to propel your stride. Formulating a smoother transition throughout your stride, this shoe is also complemented with an AHARPLUS™ heel plug to improve durability and expand its lifespan.

An ASICS staple running shoe
The DS trainer is a sturdy but lightweight running shoe. I have been wearing this shoe for over 15+ years!

Terrible shoe
I had previously purchased twice the Gel-DS trainer 25 and loved them. This is a completely different shoe, I find them very uncomfortable and not supportive at all. Why does Asics always make changes with new models, so frustrating!!!

Very happy with results of shoe selector
These feel like I'm walking on air. Zero days required to break in - they felt great from the first moment. Really impressed with the sole design and grip - never feel like I'm going to slip, no matter the surface.

Poor Material
I had these shoes for less than 2 weeks and a hole already appeared in the toe box, super disappointed. I love the feel of these shoes, but the material is not durable at all.

Versatile!
Love these! Colors are pretty, style is sleek. I love that they are versatile, i can use for weight training, cross training, walking and running. So comfy on my terrible, achy feet.

Loved my old pair but not (yet) happy with these
I owned a previous version of these shoes and loved them so I bought the updated version recently. I have to say that so far, they are not nearly as comfortable as my old shoes and I'm getting muscle pain in my feet when I wear them running. I'm hoping they will break in over time but I'm not very happy with them initially.
