Pronation

Pronation is part of the natural movement of the human body and refers to the way your foot rolls inward for impact distribution upon landing. Understanding your pronation type can help you find a comfortable running shoe. The GEL-Kahana 8 is made for Overpronation and Neutral.

  • Neutral
  • Over

Overpronation

  • Foot Type

    Low arches or flat feet
  • Push Off

Big toe and second toe do majority of the work.
  • How your foot contacts the ground

The foot lands on outside of heel, then rolls inward (pronates) excessively, transferring weight to inner edge instead of ball of the foot.

Neutral

  • Foot Type

    Normal size arches
  • Push Off

There is even distribution from the front of the foot.
  • How your foot contacts the ground

The foot lands on outside of the heel, then rolls inward (pronates) to absorb shock and support body weight.

Product Features

  • Rearfoot GEL® technology cushioning system
Attenuates shock during impact phase and allows for a smooth transition to midstance.
  • SpevaFoam™ Midsole Material
Improves bounce back characteristics and decreases midsole breakdown.
  • DuoMax® Support System
A dual density midsole system positioned to enhance support and stability, positioned sport specifically.
  • Trusstic System® technology
Reduces the weight of the sole unit while retaining the structural integrity of the shoe.
  • Trail Specific Outsole
Reversed lugs provide uphill and downhill traction on all types of terrain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best snow running shoes ever. Best pair of running shoes on snow-covered roads I've ever had. (Fifth pair of Kahanas in past 12 years.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gel Kahana 8 Have been wearing these for a few weeks. Both my feet have been bothering me. I like the construction of these shoes, but may have to add a different insole. Have not gotten the same level of comfort that I have enjoyed previously. This is a new model for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Snug Fit Great look and appear solid and great stability. These shoes are snug despite of perfect fit in terms of length - could probably use a wider width as these are quite tight. I am wearing slowly to break the in as opposed to Trabuco 9's which were perfect out of the box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great, runs great! The Gel-Kahana 8 performs as well as it looks! It provides good stability and traction, allowing you to focus on your run ahead, not just where your next step is going to be.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly stocked They don't have any other colors and this looks nothing like the actual shoe.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap and poorly made First, the web does a terrible job showing the materials. It appears (with contrast stitching and multi-color soles) to be similar to the mid-range and higher-end Gel running shoes, yet, in reality, they're not. But the bigger issue is QUALITY. The left shoe had a sharp piece by my little toe, and the SOLES were off. It actually "collapsed" or rocked.
