The standard (medium) width for women is B, while the standard width for men is D. Shoe boxes and labels will only identify widths other than standard. Within the shoes, wide and narrow widths are identified on the label, underneath the tongue — ie. T005N(2E).

When is additional width needed?
Visible stretching or bulging on the outsides of forefoot materials is a good indicator that additional width may be needed. These sizes are available in many of our Running and Training shoes. In some cases, men can wear women’s styles to achieve a narrow fit and women can wear men’s to get a wide. If this is needed, please use the references above to determine comparable size lengths. Please note that the differences of width between narrow, standard, wide, and extra wide are usually only a couple millimeters and are proportional to the size of the shoe. Most additional width will be found in the forefoot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ideal Travel Shoes I do so much Int travel and I was looking for a velcro based light shoes to replace my old and faithful Geox, and saw this on Asics web site. All my heavy sports shoes are from Asics and they are great and high quality shoes that survive heavy beatings. This one fit like a glove and very light and extremely happy with the quality and design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Trendy and comfortable I recently purchased these shoes and they are so incredibly comfortable. I like the fact that they do not have any laces and the shoe itself moulds around my feet for a perfect fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from weight training I purchased the KAYANO 25 OBIATAG for weight lifting. No laces. Great support. I leg press 1100 lbs, hack squat 506 lbs and Squats 330 lbs for reps. Calf raises 660 lbs. This model provides great support under heavy weight. I would recommend it to anyone in a similar situation. And ASICS last. I bought gel-Kinse-3 in 2011 as a general walking shoe. Still wear them to day 2018. ASICS as recommended by Australian Regular Army PT. In dealing with foot discomfort and shin splits.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very cool shoe. The shoe is very comfortable and strap system does not have all the pressure points that plague the lace up Kayano 25's which are worse for me than all the previous generations that I have worn over the years. The styling with the white Japanese lettering is great, too. I bought the blue ones first because I would wear any time because they are just unique without going to the fluorescent colors which never match any clothes . Going to order another pair in the black, too, because the comfort level is the best. I have been wearing ASICS or Tigers for over 50 years. I wear them ever day because they are easiest on my feet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Crazy stylish, but not the strongest beetles As far as the styling and design goes, I love these. They're daring and original and, in a good way, ridiculous. These navy ones are especially cool with the Japanese "Born in the Wild" inscription. (Personally, I think the white ones look a tad geriatric :/ ) The fabric of the upper is super interesting, and they're a nice blend of comfortable and snug. If you're looking to just add to a collection of walking-around sneakers, get 'em, they're solid. Everything about putting a unique, intriguing sneaker atop the best cushions in the world is a good idea. More positives below, but a few nits to pick : 1. They're a little tight around the big toe compared to how every other pair (of many) Asics I've had in the past. I'm trying to decide if I should return them based on if I feel like they'll loosen up a little. 2. I'm not the biggest fan of the cuff at the top. It's probably a necessary evil for any knit sneaker, but it's not the best if you also prefer low-cut socks. 3. They're not a true Kayano. I love the stag beetle styling (wouldn't mind a heel logo, asics made such a cool logo but hid it inside!) but having tried these on alongside the Kayano 25, a few things jump out : --These are less breathable than a typical asics running shoe. They're still pretty good, and by no means stuffy, but they're not like the structured-mesh style upper that Kayanos usually have. I wouldn't wear them as a dedicated running shoe. --They don't have the same grip on your heel, and if you're moving laterally you'll feel your foot slide around a little more. The upper's soft, so it's to be expected, but there's no external plastic heel cage. Stepping into some Kayano 25s right after these, I definitely noticed that beetle-like vice grip that locked my foot into place over the sole. --(1) The Kayano 25 has some very faint reinforcement at the front of the toe (seriously, is it some kind of spray-on rubber? It's extremely subtle), and I wish these had the same thing beneath the knit fabric to give my big toes just a milimeter or two more room. I keep my toenails pretty short but still feel a little pinch in the obistags. --This is biased because I like to tie my laces quite tightly, but I wish I could adjust the tightness of the strap, or that it had some other kind of fastener than velcro. Back to the positives though - I love when companies make experimental sneakers, and I'm 100% glad Asics decided to make these. Asics/Onitsuka have some really cool stories behind their designs and I hope they continue developing neat niche products that tell those stories. Nike experiments with off-the-wall stuff all the time, but comparatively Nikes fall apart quickly and the designs are rarely *functional*. I get the sense that everything about this design, for all my complaints, is purposeful. For instance, the placement of the straps is really cool for how it grips the foot without placing too much pressure on it. If you tie your laces tight at the beginning of the day, eventually your feet will start hurting and you need to loosen them. I found the strap slightly looser than my taste, but I don't think you'd have that problem if it were tighter. Since the strap hugs the inside of your foot at the middle but also hugs the outside of your foot along a greater surface area, it distributes the pressure really nicely. I couldn't find a lot of information on these online, but I found this page that google-translates easily enough : https://kenlu.net/2018/07/asics-gel-kayano-25-obistag/ Highlights : "When designing each generation of shoes, we must carry out the spirit of the Japanese nation." Mr. Kanno, the founder of the GEL-KAYANO series , said when we visited the ISS Institute in Japan , GEL-KAYANO 25 OBISTAG is also full of Japanese design spirit. The simple orientation of knitted uppers and straps seems simple, but each function is not too rare. The straps are inspired by the Japanese kimono belt. After unwinding, the leather stitches hidden underneath can be found. The name of the designer, the wilderness, is embossed on the top... In addition to seeing the black and white colors above, ASICS has introduced a special version. The biggest difference from the former is the typeface on the strap. The original ASICS logo was changed to the "wild" font of the Founder font. The designer of the series pays tribute, in addition to the geometric beetle on the insole from the origin story of the GEL-KAYANO series. At the beginning, Mr. Kanno encountered a bottleneck in the design. The staghorn stag beetle, which was loved by an essay, became a support piece on both sides. Inspiration, although the shell is now gone, the beetle soul is still in the heart." If you made it all the way through this, chances are that the feel of your shoes has a major impact on your mood as well, cheers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feels Fantastic These Feel amazing. Wearing these for the first time felt as if I'd never ran before. Great support, look awesome I love these shoes. One problem I have with these is the material used on the heel is slippery making the back of my heel lift upon running (this may be because they are slightly too big). Another downside for these is it,s extremely steep price (in Australia). Thanks Asics
