The standard (medium) width for women is B, while the standard width for men is D. Shoe boxes and labels will only identify widths other than standard. Within the shoes, wide and narrow widths are identified on the label, underneath the tongue — ie. T005N(2E).

When is additional width needed?
Visible stretching or bulging on the outsides of forefoot materials is a good indicator that additional width may be needed. These sizes are available in many of our Running and Training shoes. In some cases, men can wear women’s styles to achieve a narrow fit and women can wear men’s to get a wide. If this is needed, please use the references above to determine comparable size lengths. Please note that the differences of width between narrow, standard, wide, and extra wide are usually only a couple millimeters and are proportional to the size of the shoe. Most additional width will be found in the forefoot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best running shoe I've ever owned! I absolutely love these shoes because they give so much cushion and shock absorption. I feel like they've increased the distance I can run in any given session by at least 20% because of how comfortable they make my feet. I don't really understand why there are so many poor reviews on here--if the shoes are too narrow or tight, then you should size up. If they don't fit, that's an issue with the size, not the quality of the shoe. The quality of these is excellent.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Tight and Narrow After 25 years of good ascics fit, these are tight and narrow, cannot use them due to the pain in my feet and poor fit. I must now look for a brand that fits to my size, disappounted because I cannot wear them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Toebox to tight!!!!! Can you please not fix what wasn’t broken???!!! Make them how they used to be! Still to narrow!!! I have been wearing these shoes since 17 years and they used to be my go to pair! If you will not go back to your old quality I have to look somewhere else!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I wore out an older version of the nimbus. Super comfortable and the best show I’ve ever owned. The new version fits tight and narrow, very disappointing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Almost painful I have gotten Nimbus lite shows for years. Only shoe I would wear. But now they are so narrow it is painful. I am to the point of almost hating to run and I definitely regret wearing them if I forget and go about my day. Why does Asics change what is working?!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The worst thing I have ever put on my foot I bought this shoe last week. My first clue should have been when I tried it on my original try on was my tried and true 7.5, which is perfection in my nimbus 17 and 18. It was so small, it fit like a size 6! I had to go up an entire shoe size to an 8. That was still a little snug to be honest. The toe box is obviously meant for someone missing their toes. The shoe is so insanely narrow you would have to have extremely skinny feet or a procedure to remove a third of your foot to make these shoes fit comfortably. I have a heel spur and these shoes have always been a God send for reliving the discomfort. Now my heel and the sides of my feet ache. They are going back ASAP. What happened to the nimbus? Did everyone who designed the fantastic nimbus of the past get fired? Did asics decide they didnt want our money anymore? I'm extremely disappointed and now on the search for a shoe that will relieve my foot pain, not give me more of it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible shoe There is something wrong with the weight distribution or structure of this shoe. When I wear them my heels ache...I have been wearing ASICS running shoes for 20 years and have NEVER had a problem with them. I sent them back for warranty and the claim was denied. Consumer service told me that “some shoes just don’t fit right. It happens to us all.” Not for running shoes being used for day-to-day activity.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Newest GEL-Nimbus feels different I bought 2 pair of GEL-Nimbus 19, which are the same as my old pair, because ASICS apparently changed the footbed in the GEL-Nimbus 20. The arch of the 20 feels completely different and doesn’t provide the same support for my foot. So I purchased a pair and a spare of 19s to last a little while.
