Product Details

The GEL-NIMBUS® 22 Knit running shoe is a versatile offering for neutral runners, featuring our GEL® technology in both the forefoot and rearfoot to provide excellent cushioning and comfort. Crafted with a knit fabric for excellent comfort and airflow, this running shoe features FLYTEFOAM® & FLYTEFOAM® Propel technology in the midsole for an added bounce in your step. Featuring TRUSSTIC™ technology under the arch of the shoe, this thermoplastic piece provides stability, reduces weight and helps extend the life of the shoe. This piece also provides added support toward the inside of the arch. The lightweight, engineered mesh upper allows your feet to experience improved breathability, offering a supportive and adaptable fit. Designed with high mileage runners in mind, the GEL-NIMBUS® 22 shoe implements more foam in the midsole to reduce the severity of harsh impact. Additionally, a lightweight AHAR® outsole reduces the overall level of wear, allowing you to spend more time focusing on your running workouts. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a beginner, the GEL-NIMBUS® 22 Knit performance running shoe is designed to deliver soft cushioning and a more responsive stride.

Pronation is part of the natural movement of the human body and refers to the way your foot rolls inward for impact distribution upon landing. Understanding your pronation type can help you find a comfortable running shoe. The GEL-NIMBUS 22 Knit is made for Underpronation and Neutral.

The pressure is on smaller toes on outside of foot.
  • How your foot contacts the ground

The outer side of the heel hits the ground at an increased angle with little or no normal pronation, causing a large transmission of shock through the lower leg.

There is even distribution from the front of the foot.
  • How your foot contacts the ground

The foot lands on outside of the heel, then rolls inward (pronates) to absorb shock and support body weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid gear. Do it. These shoes are incredible. It feels as if they even get more comfortable as the run goes on. The knit is very breathable. I’m impressed. I’m 6’4” 205 lbs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for high arches, feels like a cloud I bought these because i have very sensitive feet and a history of extensive lower injuries / stress fractures in both knees, shins, feet, ankles, and everything that moves from the army. I also have abnormally high arches, so i'm very limited in which shoe brands & designs i can safely wear for more than a couple hours. After using this websites fitment app, these came up as most suggested. I was hesitant about the minimal amount of gel on the outsole, because they appear to have much less than my very old Kayano 21s, but on the contrary, OMG these are like walking on a cloud with mini-springs or something. The amount of give or cushion they have is amazing, and there's no obvious "wall" or stopping point where it feels "hard" when you bottom them out on concrete. They literally don't bottom out, its as if (as a metaphor) i have an inch of vertical travel! The arch support out of the box is also vastly superior to any shoe i've ever worn. These actually provide better support than my own custom orthotics, but with the added benefit of (what feels like) literally unlimited cushion. The mesh outer (outside of the tongue) is not padded, but i can't even tell the difference because there's so much cushion in the insole/outsole. I noticed the toe box is wider than other shoes i've worn, but it works for me. For some that may or may not be important. The only thing i was dissapointed with was that the foam outsole is pure uniform white, as opposed to the advertised stock pictures that show a spectrum of tan/olive on the outsole. So i decided to paint them to get the colors matched.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoe! I use the GEL-NIMBUS 22 at work as a nurse. They are very comfortable and breathe well. Next time I may order wide size since it’s a little difficult getting my foot in without bunching up my socks. Maybe they’ll stretch some; I’ve only worn them for about a week.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great running / walking shoes I bought both the Nimbus 21 and 22 because I wanted to compare the difference between them. The Nimbus 22 is a much better fit. It's roomier at the top so I can use my custom insoles. The exoskeletal heel is firmer than the Nimbus 21 and arch support is a lot better. I have very high arches and suffer from shint splints and plantar fasciitis. When I wear the Nimbus 22, I can feel the arch support is more contoured to my feet. Control and stability are excellent comparing to my other running shoes. Cushion in the heel and forefoot is very good. My feet aren't fatigued nor do they ache after my run. The Nimbus 22 is also lighter and more flexible than the Nimbus 21.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of "the" best running and walking shoes Best workout shoes on the market. I have tried New Balance, Nike and Brooks but have always come back the Asics Gel-Nimbus 22. Thought the 21's were good until these came out recently. I now have three pair because they are awesome. Absolutely the best. Toe width is nice. I am an underpronator so they handle that issue well. Cushion is extremely good. I have been running for over 40 years and somehow Asics has continued to provide a nice selection that look good, feel great, and always deliver.
