Heel Drop
13 mm
247 g/8.7 oz

Designed For Underpronation Neutral

  • Foot Type

    High arches
  • Push Off

The pressure is on smaller toes on outside of foot.
  • Considered Injuries

Plantar fasciitis, shin splints, ankle strain.
  • How your foot contacts the ground

The outer side of the heel hits the ground at an increased angle with little or no normal pronation, causing a large transmission of shock through the lower leg.

  • Foot Type

    Normal size arches
  • Push Off

There is even distribution from the front of the foot.
  • Considered Injuries

Less likely due to effective shock absorption, but neutral runners are not immune to injury.
  • How your foot contacts the ground

The foot lands on outside of the heel, then rolls inward (pronates) to absorb shock and support body weight.
The GEL-NIMBUS® 24 shoe offers advanced impact protection for your distance training. Creating a softer landing in every step, this shoe is also approx. 10g lighter than the previous version. The upper’s soft engineered mesh and flexible midfoot panel make these shoes more comfortable during long runs. By moving seamlessly with your foot, they help your stride feel smoother in every step. FF BLAST™ PLUS cushioning keeps the shoe lightweight while providing a softer feeling underfoot. This material also helps increase the shoe's rebound properties at the toe-off stage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feet savers As a nurse I am on my feet for 12 hour shifts. After getting plantar fasciitis from an expensive popular nursing shoe , these shoes are a godsend!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfort They are very comfortable, great for nurses, but they do make noises when you walk. I also had to go up half a size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, but not excellent These are my first pair of Nimbus’s. My last pair of ASICS was the Kensei Blast (or something like that). I loved them! I bought them after having a problem with my plantar fascia tendon and just wore them out. I was looking to replace them and found that these sneakers were recommended for those foot problems. I don’t like them quite as much. The main reason is that they are squishy soft. I, as most people, would probably think that is a positive, but I am finding out that my feet actually felt more energized and less stiff with more stability and ankle control in my old Kensei Blast’s. Frankly, I should have probably bought another pair of those but these got excellent ratings and were cheaper. Overall, a great sneaker with loads of padding. They run according to size and if you typically complain about ASICS being too narrow these should not give you problems. I find them to be roomy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gel Nimbus Super Fan!!! Loved my first pair so much in the dark grey I got a second pair in this bright motivating pink. Superb cushioning, light weight and mesh like tongue for a flexible thinner tongue feel. I speed walk 5k’s in them. I am a senior athlete with double knee replacements and high recommend this shoe. I like this shoe so much there might be a third color in my future!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Definitely go 1/2 Sz up —Toebox tight in normal sz I normally wear a 5.5 regular (or narrow in a few brands) in all but sneakers. I typically get a 6 regular in sneakers (including ASICS). These sneakers were tight in the toebox/squeezed my pinky-toes in. A half size up in these sneakers = an additional 0.5 cm in length, but the Toebox is a little wider as well. Definitely heed the online reviews and go up a 1/2 size—even if you normally size up a 1/2 size in sneakers…add 1/2 size to that! I re-sized to a 6.5 (first time I’ve ever fit in a 6.5 shoe) and they are sooo comfortable to walk in. My step is secure (I’m a supinator/underpronator), I feel the bounce under the heel, and the midfoot cushion & stability from the midsole and “trussic system” is excellent. The overall shape, cushion, & support brings my foot comfortably through the gait cycle with a pleasant, noticeable bounce as I transition from heel to mid foot when walking. I’m happy with my purchase after the exchange for 1/2 size up, though a little more foam in the front 1/3rd of the midsole would have been nice to make it a little bouncy/cushioned like the middle and back parts of the midsole. More of a rocker/rocking style could really make these shoes fast and fun to wear, but there are pros & cons to everything.
