The GEL-NIMBUS® LITE 2 running shoe continues to build on our GEL-NIMBUS® heritage by providing neutral runners with a lighter design and excellent cushioning. While the first iteration focused on combining a soft and lightweight design, this version builds on that same mindset but creates an even smoother cushioning experience. Part of our brand's sustainability initiative, this style also features a series of recycled materials while using fewer resources for a more eco-friendly design approach. Nearly the entire upper of the GEL-NIMBUS® LITE 2 is formed with recycled materials that help your feet breathe better throughout your run. Simultaneously, the FLYTEFOAM® midsole technology incorporates Cellulose Nanofiber, a sustainable material that increases the durability of the foam. Designed with an advanced software program that helps improve the shoe's cushioning properties, this model also references the design language of the GEL-NIMBUS® series while creating a lighter and softer running experience. Meanwhile, the GEL® technology cushioning in the forefoot and rearfoot improves comfort while increasing shock absorption. Fusing advanced tech with design nuances that halo our GEL-NIMBUS® series, the GEL-NIMBUS® LITE 2 running shoe is part of our mission to help create a more sustainable world while offering soft cushioning and lightweight comfort.

Designed For Underpronation Neutral

  • Foot Type

    High arches
  • Push Off

The pressure is on smaller toes on outside of foot.
  • Considered Injuries

Plantar fasciitis, shin splints, ankle strain.
  • How your foot contacts the ground

The outer side of the heel hits the ground at an increased angle with little or no normal pronation, causing a large transmission of shock through the lower leg.

  • Foot Type

    Normal size arches
  • Push Off

There is even distribution from the front of the foot.
  • Considered Injuries

Less likely due to effective shock absorption, but neutral runners are not immune to injury.
  • How your foot contacts the ground

The foot lands on outside of the heel, then rolls inward (pronates) to absorb shock and support body weight.
  • FLYTEFOAM™ technology
Provides lightweight cushioning that's made with sustainable materials
  • Recycled upper materials

    Cushioning provides excellent shock absorption
  • I.G.S™ (Impact Guidance System) design philosophy helps generate a more consistent gait

Rated 2 out of 5 by from TOO BIG, TOO BAD I bought these last week. BUT they're way too big—even though most critical reviews suggested too narrow. I wear 11.5, and have owned many ASICS, most recently Kayano 24, GT2000, and GT1000, all size 11.5. For some reason these new 11.5s are too big. I also bought the GEL KAYANO 27 — TOO BIG! I don't understand? I also have size 11.5 with Saucony Endorphin Speed 2, New Balance 1080 v10, and past Nike, but ASICS is NOW too big? I'm stuck with 2 pairs of running shoes that don't fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Former Nimbus wearer Pair #4 for the year, just introduced new pair to break in. Plans are to keep running over winter and enjoy they shoes for their comfort. Run outside when I can and snow and ice isn't to bad. Like florescent color to be better seen by drivers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The most comfortable shoe I have ever worn! I have been a huge gel nimbus fan for years. They are the only thing I wear. The lite 2 is even better!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoes I ran with these shoes for about 420 miles. Greatest pair of Asics I have ever had. Very comfortable for the long runs and just wide enough to fit my feet and LET THEM BREATHE! The cushion weas like running on a cloud and expectedly got less over time. Going back to the store for another pair next week.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Second pair, in a good way This is my second pair after the first got me through triathlon training this summer. Currently training for a marathon and milage really ramped up so needed a new pair. Super comfortable. Great for long runs, tempo work and even doing threshold sessions on the track. Not the best for off the beaten path but didn't really expect them to be, otherwise, best pair of shoes I've had in a long time.
