Underpronation

  • Foot Type

    High arches
  • Push Off

The pressure is on smaller toes on outside of foot.
  • Considered Injuries

Plantar fasciitis, shin splints, ankle strain.
  • How your foot contacts the ground

The outer side of the heel hits the ground at an increased angle with little or no normal pronation, causing a large transmission of shock through the lower leg.

Neutral

  • Foot Type

    Normal size arches
  • Push Off

There is even distribution from the front of the foot.
  • Considered Injuries

Less likely due to effective shock absorption, but neutral runners are not immune to injury.
  • How your foot contacts the ground

The foot lands on outside of the heel, then rolls inward (pronates) to absorb shock and support body weight.
Take on the toughest terrain in confidence with the men's GEL-VENTURE® 7 performance trail running shoe by ASICS. Featuring GEL® technology and an EVA midsole, this shoe is made for athletes who love to run in the great outdoors. GEL® technology in the rearfoot area of the shoe provides shock absorption where you need it most, while the ORTHOLITE™ sockliner provides an additional layer of cushioning underfoot. It even molds to the shape of your feet, making each run even more comfortable than the last. Extra support comes from the sturdy upper crafted from synthetic leather, while the internal heel counter gently helps your foot remain in its natural line of motion, making for a more efficient stride. Meanwhile the EVA midsole protects your feet against impact and increases rebound, giving you an energetic feeling as you clock up the miles. Durable and practical, the GEL-VENTURE® 7 shoe makes an excellent training partner whether you're new to trail running or a seasoned pro.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from These do not fit like other Asics shoes I ordered a size 10, like my 4 other pairs of Asics sneakers, and they were too large. I returned them and ordered a size 9.5, the length was ok but the toe box is too narrow and cramped. I decided to keep them hoping they would stretch out and become more comfortable. I should have returned them and started my search for a new brand. It's always disappointing when a shoe company makes a change to their products. I switched to Asics from another brand that I wore for many years before they decided to save money by making them cheaper, now I have to find a new brand that fits me better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from YL walker Its a comfortable pair of shoes. I also have the Gel-Venture 8. Both are very similar except for the lace material. The lace on the 7 is harder to loosen from eyelet so shoe removal become an issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't follow the size chart. Get your regular size I feel like I can run on any surface with these! The rocks don't bother me anymore. The size chart told me to get a 10.5, but I went with a 10. Still got plenty of room, not too big, but probably could've went with a 9.5

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Frustrating experience after cancelling gel vent 6 Really bad experience and they don t deserve a one star. I thought with the new models ASICS could make a big jump but unfortunately any new article comes with more frustrations It was a good time buying old technology like gel venture 6. It s gonna be I think my last purchase with ASICS, I wish I can change my mind but after a lot of unfortunate purchases during last 4 years it s hard to stay.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely the right choice!! So, I’ve worn these inside the house a few days, just to make sure everything was feeling good. Finally got out and did some easy trail hiking this weekend. Shoes performed as expected. Trail was a little wet at times, but had no traction issues. Comfort level was great and seemed surprisingly light. Great purchase!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolutely zero arch support--or customer support This is marketed as a neutral shoe for underpronators who are prone to plantar fasciitis. That's me. I underpronate because I have high arches. I bought this shoe for all those reasons. When I got them, the fit was good, but the sockliner is a completely flat piece of memory foam; not a hint of arch to it. I tried the shoes and it actually made the top of the arch in my left foot hurt--which is a whole new kind of ache in addition to my usual plantar fasciitis. Unfortunately, the usual arch support inserts I use aren't a good fit in this shoe because the heel cup of the insert raises my heel height, so the ankle of the shoe rides lower around my ankle, which feels unstable. I contacted customer support to ask them if they have any suggestions on an arch support insert that would fit this shoe, and rather than answer my question, they responded with a very unhelpful email with a link on how to return them--they didn't answer my question at all. The info on returns states: "Merchandise must be returned in its original condition within 90 days of purchase. Returns received after 90 days will not be accepted. Original condition is defined as: All tags still attached to product. Material must be unworn, unwashed, and unaltered. Merchandise must be in its original packaging. Return shipment must include the packing slip." Well, I can't return them: they've been worn; I did remove the tags, though I saved them in case I needed to return; and my order didn't come with a packing slip. So these shoes were a very poor choice for me because they lack any arch support, and the brand, well, it's apparently a poor choice for me as well since customer service ignored my actual question in favor of a useless form email on how to return. This was my first ASICS purchase in several years, and I thought I'd try them again, and I'm very sorry I did. A bad experience all around, and now I'm stuck with a shoe I basically can't wear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shoes that last Best brand shoes I’ve ever owned. I’m a big guy so I’m pretty tough on sneakers. My first pair lasted at least a year more than other brands, so I bought a second pair.
