The standard (medium) width for women is B, while the standard width for men is D. Shoe boxes and labels will only identify widths other than standard. Within the shoes, wide and narrow widths are identified on the label, underneath the tongue — ie. T005N(2E).

When is additional width needed?
Visible stretching or bulging on the outsides of forefoot materials is a good indicator that additional width may be needed. These sizes are available in many of our Running and Training shoes. In some cases, men can wear women’s styles to achieve a narrow fit and women can wear men’s to get a wide. If this is needed, please use the references above to determine comparable size lengths. Please note that the differences of width between narrow, standard, wide, and extra wide are usually only a couple millimeters and are proportional to the size of the shoe. Most additional width will be found in the forefoot.

Pronation

Pronation is part of the natural movement of the human body and refers to the way your foot rolls inward for impact distribution upon landing. Understanding your pronation type can help you find a comfortable running shoe. ASICS GT-2000 5 Trail is made for neutral, over.

How Your Foot Contacts the Ground
The foot lands on outside of the heel, then rolls inward (pronates) to absorb shock and support body weight.
Push Off
There is even distribution from the front of the foot.
Considered Injuries
Less likely due to effective shock absorption, but neutral runners are not immune to injury.
Foot Type
Normal size arches
Overpronation
How Your Foot Contacts the Ground
The foot lands on outside of heel, then rolls inward (pronates) excessively, transferring weight to inner edge instead of ball of the foot.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Inferior to 2000 GT 6 The 4 series of this line was my favorite. For me perfectly and comfortable from the first run. Didn’t even need to break them in. I was excited to get the 5 series, but the fit was much different. Too tight at the front of the foot and little room for toes. I just returned and purchased the 6 series which I love. Same as the 4 - fit perfectly and no need to break in. After a week took them on a 10 mile run and they’re great. No rubbing or blisters. I’d skip the 5 and go to the 6.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from GT-2000 (5) Trail size Bought this type because I had the previous version and totally loved it, great fit and comfort, however when i bought the 5 series, the size did not fit at all :(

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Seems good but too small I've been running in Asics shoes for over 20 years and always wear a 10.5. I should have read the reviews before this online purchase as these are clearly a half size too small. For trail running shoe, they don't have nearly as much grip as I'd expect; the bottoms are only slightly more knobby than street shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Trail Shoes I Have Ran In Got these shoes for OCR racing only because the ASICS Kayano shoes work great for my running style and most shoes I can wear or my knees will start to hurt, especially my IT Band. Well I used these at a Toughest Mudder for 25+ miles over 8 hours and they were amazing. They held up and got me through the race without any knee pain.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst GT-2000 built I have been running in GT 2000 shoes and loved them for several years, 2 pair of the 3's and 2 pair of 4's and the 5's are totally different and poor quality. After 3 months of only being worn for morning runs are falling apart at the Achilles' tendon to the point I will have to replace way too soon. When I retire the shoes from running I typically turn them into day to day shoes and my 4's with over 1000 miles logged are still in better shape. Aside from poor quality, the new laces don't stay tied and the outer material in rigid and creases against my toes when I flex shoe forward. I used to love the the GT 2000 but no more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks and Feels Good Runs a little narrow. Purchase after purchasing GT-2000 6, not trail, and they are not as good of a fit as the 6. Hoping they break in, a bit narrow in the front foot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Durability/Fit Issues Bought these at full price to replace my 2000 4 Trails. The fit is at least a half size smaller. The liner material tore up after less than 40 miles. Really disappointing =/
