The standard (medium) width for women is B, while the standard width for men is D. Shoe boxes and labels will only identify widths other than standard. Within the shoes, wide and narrow widths are identified on the label, underneath the tongue — ie. T005N(2E).

When is additional width needed?
Visible stretching or bulging on the outsides of forefoot materials is a good indicator that additional width may be needed. These sizes are available in many of our Running and Training shoes. In some cases, men can wear women’s styles to achieve a narrow fit and women can wear men’s to get a wide. If this is needed, please use the references above to determine comparable size lengths. Please note that the differences of width between narrow, standard, wide, and extra wide are usually only a couple millimeters and are proportional to the size of the shoe. Most additional width will be found in the forefoot.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor quality The mesh wears out long before the treads. I thought it was something that had changed with my pronation. The only thing that is changing is my shoe manufacturer. Narrower toe box complicates the matter

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good until it fell apart I put some miles on this shoe for sure. Maybe 300 mi. +, but i have never had a pair of GT's just fall to pieces like this before. I have GT 4's that I've had for a few years now, graduating from walking around shoes to mowing the lawn and their still going. The mesh completely separated from the sole on my last run. In light of other reviews, I guess I was lucky to get as much as I did out of them. They're not what they use to be.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from average at best Asics used to be great. Now they are ok at best. Purchase with caution.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a good GT-2000 version I stock-piled three pair of the GT-2000 3 version, medium width, when I saw it fit perfectly. Now, I needed a replacement and was shocked and disappointed at the poor fit of the GT-2000 6. This version is narrower with a toe box that squeezes the toes and requires stretching. Given the complaints about the version's durability and the flimsier feel compared to the GT-2000 3, this may not work. The Asics people need to remember: if it aint broke, don't fix it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from mesh worn through Mesh worn through and tread wore down very quickly. Way quicker than usual. I've the GTs have been my goto for years. This is a first for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Awesome except for early wear & tear After about 6 runs in my new shoes, I noticed the tread on the sole had already begun to detach from the rest of the shoe. This is way too early for such an issue. Aside from that, I love it - appearance, support, etc.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Loyal Asics Fan Disappointed I have been a loyal fan of Asics shoes for several years and have been happy with the last couple versions of the GT-2000 line. When reviewing the new version 6 I found a couple of online reviews that showed pictures of the upper mesh material falling apart, but I figured that it was just do to some extreme usage. Well, I have really only been wearing my Asics for walking and light exercise and after a couple of short weeks, the exact same thing happened to me. The upper mesh has completely come undone. The white you see in the attached photo is my sock....and I'm pretty sure its not supposed to be showing through the torn mesh material. Stay clear of this particular version of the GT-2000 line.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I got this pair as a warranty replacement for a pair bought January; the inner heel material in the last pair deteriorated within 2 months. So far the heel material is still in tact on this pair but within a month there’s already a hole/separation on the toe of the left shoe (see photo). I have Asics that I’ve owned for 8 years that I now mow in that have held up fine, but my last 2 pair have been really sad. I’ll be filing another warranty claim and see what happens with that. Unfortunately if the quality does turn around, and quick, I’m not sure ASICS will be around much longer.
