The standard (medium) width for women is B, while the standard width for men is D. Shoe boxes and labels will only identify widths other than standard. Within the shoes, wide and narrow widths are identified on the label, underneath the tongue — ie. T005N(2E).

When is additional width needed?
Visible stretching or bulging on the outsides of forefoot materials is a good indicator that additional width may be needed. These sizes are available in many of our Running and Training shoes. In some cases, men can wear women’s styles to achieve a narrow fit and women can wear men’s to get a wide. If this is needed, please use the references above to determine comparable size lengths. Please note that the differences of width between narrow, standard, wide, and extra wide are usually only a couple millimeters and are proportional to the size of the shoe. Most additional width will be found in the forefoot.

Pronation

Pronation is part of the natural movement of the human body and refers to the way your foot rolls inward for impact distribution upon landing. Understanding your pronation type can help you find a comfortable running shoe. ASICS GT-2000 7 is made for neutral, over.

  • NEUTRAL
  • OVER
Neutral
How Your Foot Contacts the Ground
The foot lands on outside of the heel, then rolls inward (pronates) to absorb shock and support body weight.
Push Off
There is even distribution from the front of the foot.
Considered Injuries
Less likely due to effective shock absorption, but neutral runners are not immune to injury.
Foot Type
Normal size arches
Overpronation
How Your Foot Contacts the Ground
The foot lands on outside of heel, then rolls inward (pronates) excessively, transferring weight to inner edge instead of ball of the foot.
Push Off
Big toe and second toe do majority of the work.
Considered Injuries
Shin splints, plantar fasciitis, bunions, heel spurs.
Foot Type
Low arches or flat feet.

Product Details

The fit of the GT-2000® 7 running shoe has been improved. We did this by using a new last, the footform that gives the upper its shape. This last fits more true to size and has a slightly wider and higher toebox allowing the foot to spread out more naturally at toeoff. Also, the upper of the GT-2000® 7 shoe has been enhanced with a new engineered mesh for a glove-like fit over the top of the foot. This mesh has been engineered to give more support to areas of the upper where the foot needs it and less to others for better breathability.

These enhancements combine to make the GT-2000® 7 one comfortable running shoe. Make no mistake—the GT-2000® 7 running shoe has plenty of stability, designed for athletes who love to run. The added stability comes in part from the DYNAMIC DUOMAX® support system, positioned under the heel and middle of the foot to guard against overpronation, or the excessive inward rolling of the foot just after the foot hits the ground. FLYTEFOAM® technology is layered over the DYNAMIC DUOMAX® support system for responsive cushioning, helping you run farther, while supersoft SPEVAFOAM® midsole material, just under the foot, reduces impact to minimize the strain on your body.

Reliable grip is vital for any runner, and the GT-2000® 7 shoe has got that covered. The durable AHAR® rubber outsole in the heel and lightweight AHAR® rubber in the forefoot is designed to offer extra traction, keeping you stable on any road surface. This durable compound also protects the shoes against damage that can be caused by long-term wear.

Simply put, the GT-2000® 7 shoe takes care of all the details, leaving you to focus on enjoying your run.

Weight: 8.67. Heel Height: 21mm. Forefoot Height: 11mm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lighter than any previous versions, love it. I like it all. This exact pair of ASICS, colors and comfort features, came right in time when I needed. There is one point that I would love designers to think about - it is the possibility to provide any options for the shoe tongue to snap to the main shoe/ laces area, so it does NOT move, snap/ or any other solid attachment ... as the way I walk the toung goes always to the side missing the point of its purpose, see pic 2 of new shoes- it is going to be the case even with this pair too; pic 3 - see my current ASICS solution ha! Can we do something about it in the future? and how about making a pair of shoes where the shoe sole color is coordinated with the main shoe... black and black, white and white, gray and gray meaning all black, white, gray ... gray is great for Florida.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the feel! I bought these about 1 month ago. They are actually a warranty replacement. Customer service was excellent. Arrived in time and as expected. The support of these shoes are beyond expectations. Big improvement from last season's model. Mesh around front of foot is more supportive and less likely to RIP.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Improved and Comfortable! I have worn this running shoe for several years and was upset with last year’s model because of the tight toe box. I have narrow feet and not many companies make shoes in narrow sizes and I appreciate that ASICS does. This new model is wonderful! Fits great, hugs my heels and has plenty of room to wiggle my toes. The arch support is good. Usually narrow sizes come in less attractive or boring colors but these are Very attractive!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not what they used to be I have owned several different models of ascics. These ones do not have the comfort of ASICS made in the past.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Support I struggle to find proper support for my HIIT workouts as my feet overpronate. I bought this shoe in December and though they felt a bit weird at first my feet quickly adjusted and provided great support and have helped ease the pain in my feet so I get more quality workouts. Thank you Asics!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What have they done to this shoe? I have been a loyal Asics wearer and purchased this new shoe last week. Since then, I've been experiencing nothing but knee pain (not running in them yet, just walking around to gently break them in). After going through 17 months of rehab from recurring injuries (not due to running shoes), I'm worried beyond belief that these shoes will break me before I break them in. Ugh...money NOT well spent
