Product Details

Promoting a lightweight ride, the GT-2000™ 8 running shoe from ASICS is designed to provide appropriate comfort and protection for runners in seeking a performance stability shoe. The GT-2000™ 8 road running shoe features an updated GEL® technology piece and a softer section of foam in the heel for improved comfort and shock absorption. The lightweight FLYTEFOAM® technology midsole offers a soft landing with each stride, so you can experience a more energetic stride. The upper features a lightweight engineered mesh that allows better air circulation to keep your skin feeling dry and refreshed. Thanks to the combination of DYNAMIC DUOMAX® technology and TRUSSTIC™ SYSTEM technology in the midfoot, these applications keep your feet stable and supported. When you're looking for a smooth ride, the GT-2000™ 8 road running shoe is the model for you.

Pronation

Pronation is part of the natural movement of the human body and refers to the way your foot rolls inward for impact distribution upon landing. Understanding your pronation type can help you find a comfortable running shoe. The GT-2000 8 is made for Overpronation.

Overpronation

  • Foot Type

    Low arches or flat feet
  • Push Off

Big toe and second toe do majority of the work.
  • How your foot contacts the ground

The foot lands on outside of heel, then rolls inward (pronates) excessively, transferring weight to inner edge instead of ball of the foot.

Product Features

  • Rearfoot and Forefoot GEL® Technology Cushioning System
Attenuates shock during impact and toe-off phases, and allows movement in multiple planes as the foot transitions through the gait cycle.
  • FlyteFoam® Midsole Technology
Our FlyteFoam® technology provides exceptional bounce back and responsiveness no matter the distance, utilizing organic super fibers to help reduce packing out that traditionally happens with softer, low density foams.
  • Dynamic DuoMax™ Support System
This evolution of DuoMax® system enhances stability and support, with reduced weight and increased platform support.
  • Trusstic System® technology
Reduces the weight of the sole unit while retaining the structural integrity of the shoe.
  • Engineered Mesh Upper
Multi-directional mesh material improves ventilation and stability.
  • AHAR® Outsole
Acronym for ASICS High Abrasion Rubber. Placed in critical areas of the outsole for exceptional durability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty and functional I LOVE the color scheme. Asics always impresses with the choices in size 12 ladies. I'm so sick of only choosing between boring colors because it's a bigger size. They are comfortable right out of the box. I use for walking outdoors, mostly on paved paths.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect For My Plantar Fasciitis Pain I've been searching for shoes for over 6 months now for my plantar fasciitis and heel spur pain. These shoes have been the only ones that have worked for me so far. Although, they don't relieve the pain 100%, my pain level while wearing them drops from a 10 to about a 2-3. Thank you, Asics and please DO NOT stop making these shoes!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Supportive, snug, and comfortable I bought the GT 2000 originals years ago and loved them. I use athletic shoes rarely but usually for walking, light exercise, or when I have bad foot days (I have plantar fasciitis and morton's neuroma in my left foot), so it took some time but they finally needed replacement. I originally made the mistake of falling for the hype of the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 20's. Bought them, wore them around the house, and I hated them, so back they went. These Asics are everything I want--supportive arch, soft heel strike, cushy toe off, and a snug over all fit so it felt like an extension of my foot. The Brooks were lose everywhere and I felt like I was wearing a shoe, an experience I don't like. The Asics hug the back and mid of the foot while leaving enough room for the toes to breathe. The first time I wore these out I didn't even realize I was wearing them until halfway through the day, they were so supportive and comfortable. Usually I wear sandals and even the small toe scrunching gives me some pain after a while. But these were phenomenal. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I feel like the heel grip could have more padding and hold me more securely than it currently does but I do have narrow heels so it could just be a "me" issue. Otherwise everything about this shoe is amazing. You can feel the gel cushion yet feel very grounded with each step. And they're not excessively bulky or heavy. In terms of sizing, I guess they do run small? For sandals and heels I'm a 6, for boots I'm a 6.5, and in these I'm a 7.
