Pronation

Pronation is part of the natural movement of the human body and refers to the way your foot rolls inward for impact distribution upon landing. Understanding your pronation type can help you find a comfortable running shoe. The GT-2000 9 (2E) is made for Neutral and Overpronation.

Neutral

  • Foot Type

    Normal size arches
  • Push Off

There is even distribution from the front of the foot.
  • How your foot contacts the ground

The foot lands on outside of the heel, then rolls inward (pronates) to absorb shock and support body weight.

Overpronation

  • Foot Type

    Low arches or flat feet
  • Push Off

Big toe and second toe do majority of the work.
  • How your foot contacts the ground

The foot lands on outside of heel, then rolls inward (pronates) excessively, transferring weight to inner edge instead of ball of the foot.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from PLEASE MAKE 2E SHOES IN OTHER MODELS BESIDES THIS! Really wanted to love this shoe, since my feet recently became wide and there are that many options out there when it comes to 2E offerings. The shoe is too soft for my feet and after 40 minutes of walking they feel tired and worn out. I usually walk around 6mi a day, so about 2 hours. Would definitely prefer a slightly firmer support, especially since this is advertising to help with overpronation, and not a neutral shoe. Asics, if you're reading, please PLEASE, PLEASE make 2E options in other shoes in your line, such as the gt1000, and kayano lines. I prefer those and would be so grateful to be able to fit into those shoes again. Please make more shoes in 2E for the many out there who are blessed with extra wide feet & cannot fit into men's shoes with huge heels!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Running with injuries I have so much trouble having a EE width foot. Now with injured knees and back, I need more support and comfort than ever to work out. These shoes meet the challenge.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cushioning There is almost no cushioning - at least in the pair I got. If you don't want to feel rocks and things as you walk, this isn't the shoe for you.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not quite right Make my feet hurt when I wear them and when I’m not.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good shoe but top of toe box is too narrow I purchased the 9-2E and it was too small. Mainly due to the top area of the toe box being to narrow. I returned it and bought 9.5-2E. It fits well and has good cushioning. I think the arch could be higher but this is not a deal breaker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoes Great out of the box. I'm a nurse and have rheumatoid arthritis which makes for sore feet. I have a pair that I only wear around the house to help with foot pain.
