Neutral, Stability
For nearly 30 years, the GT-2000™ series has been the stability shoe of choice for a variety of runners, ranging from casual weekend warriors to top marathon finishers. If you're looking for a lightweight and cushioned running shoe to help support your foot, the GT-2000™ 9 (Extra Wide) model is an excellent choice. The fit of the GT-2000™ 9 (Extra Wide) shoe has been redesigned with a one-piece mesh construction to create an improved fit. This new upper material has also been reinforced in key areas for added support as the foot rolls through the gait cycle. The shoe's upper is also made with recycled materials, while the sockliner is produced with a solution dyeing process that reduces carbon emissions and water usage. Additionally, our distance running shoe is also complemented with an extra wide fit for runners who require more width in their footwear. Lastly, a combination of FLYTEFOAM® technology and GEL® technology cushioning are positioned in the midsole to help promote lightweight comfort and reduce the overall shock from impact.

Designed For Neutral Overpronation

  • Foot Type

    Normal size arches
  • Push Off

There is even distribution from the front of the foot.
  • Considered Injuries

Less likely due to effective shock absorption, but neutral runners are not immune to injury.
  • How your foot contacts the ground

The foot lands on outside of the heel, then rolls inward (pronates) to absorb shock and support body weight.

  • Foot Type

    Low arches or flat feet
  • Push Off

Big toe and second toe do majority of the work.
  • Considered Injuries

Shin splints, plantar fasciitis, bunions, heel spurs.
  • How your foot contacts the ground

The foot lands on outside of heel, then rolls inward (pronates) excessively, transferring weight to inner edge instead of ball of the foot.
  • Engineered mesh upper improves breathability
  • No-sew overlays improve support
  • Rearfoot and Forefoot GEL® Technology Cushioning System
Attenuates shock during impact and toe-off phases, and allows movement in multiple planes as the foot transitions through the gait cycle.
  • FLYTEFOAM® Technology
    Provides lightweight cushioning.
  • Dynamic DuoMax™ Support System
This evolution of DuoMax® system enhances stability and support, with reduced weight and increased platform support.
  • Ortholite® Sockliner
Moisture management (Ortholite is a registered trademark of ATP Manufacturing LLC).
  • Solution Dye Sockliner
Sockliner is produced with a solution dyeing process that reduces water usage and carbon emissions
  • Recycled Material Upper
At least 20% of the primary material of the shoe's upper is made with recycled materials to reduce waste and carbon emissions.
  • Extra wide fit

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great shoe for my foot shape I've run in this series of shoes for about 30 years and haven't been successful trying different shoes. The 4E width fits my foot very well, and I'm unaware of the shoes at distances up to 28 miles with my feet just being fine and comfortable. Recent pairs last me about 700 miles before I'm through the carbon rubber, with the uppers still in fairly new condition and the absorption/comfort degrading only a bit. I feed the carbon rubber in the 8's and 9's is perhaps only 640 miles worth, and I don't know what changed. The laces in recent series are a good length (they were much too short in, I think, the 6's). My big grumble is the lack of color choices in the 4E width. These shoes and this line have been fairly issue free for me running 1250 to 2400 miles a year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from comfortable great, comfortable, use for waiting tables, little slippery on some surfaces

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 4E Width? I don't think so... This is what happens when you shop online. I'm dying to find a fat, wide shoe... this isn't it. It says 4E... my feet say, standard width. And now I'm drinking.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The confort I am a big guy, I just started wearing these maybe a couple of weeks ago. I feel like my left shoe has already caved in on the inside towards the back. I am not sure which shoe will be the best one for me but I will keep looking because I love Asics.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I buy these shoes for comfort at work and never had an issues. For whatever reason, this pair did not provide any cushion. I literally had to wear my old pair until another pair I ordered came in.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but as always, limited colors for wide feet. I have wide feet (can only wear 4Es with comfort). The GT-2009 series works fine (as do most in the 2000 series). My only complaint is the sorry lack of nice colors for people with wide feet. You're fine if you only want grey, white, or black, but forget any bright base colors that might be more appealing to the eyes. If I could find another shoe manufacturer with roughly the same quality/comfortable fit and a better color selection, I'd change in a heartbeat. This is a continual complaint from wide-footed people who wear GT-2000s. Beats me why Asics doesn't seem to give a darn about such complaints. Guess they don't have to as long as we come back for more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Size 10 4e a good value I bought a 2e version but it was too snug so I reordered a 4e size 10 and a lot better. Very comfortable as I am a teacher walking all day on carpet covered concrete. I've only had these for about a week, and so far so good. Nice color, good tread, and lacing is very easy. I'd buy again
