For nearly 30 years, the GT-2000™ series has been the stability shoe of choice for runners ranging from casual weekend warriors to top marathon finishers. If you're looking for a lightweight, cushioned running shoe that's functional for going longer distances on the trails, the GT-2000™ 9 Trail model is an excellent choice. Updated with a one-piece upper construction for an improved fit, the ninth incarnation of the GT-2000™ running shoe secures the top of the foot with a lightweight design and soft comfort. These materials have been reinforced in targeted areas for added support as the foot rolls through the gait cycle, delivering a more efficient toe-off and secure fit. The shoe's upper is also made with recycled materials, while the sockliner is produced with a solution dyeing process that reduces carbon emissions and water usage. GEL® technology cushioning generates excellent shock absorption, while a layer of FLYTEFOAM® material in the midsole creates a softer and more supportive feel at footstrike. The GUIDANCE TRUSSTIC® design is joined with a DYNAMIC DUOMAX® support system, which are key technologies that improve stability and provide a more efficient toe-off. Additionally, this style's outsole is complemented with a lugged traction pattern to increase grip on loose and slippery surfaces.

Fun and playful
The colors are wonderful. Purple has some sparkle in it. Playful! The fit is rather tight, but comfortable and I assume it will stretch with time, which means they will fit better in the long run.

what i expected
i always buy asics as my running shoes. this pair didn’t disappoint. however, your feet will get wet if you’re running in wet weather. i figured as much but i prefer a lightweight, supportive, breathable shoe than a winter shoe that’s typically kind of stiff and heavy. just wear waterproof socks.

Great shoes, just run a bit narrow.
I liked these shoes a lot; unfortunately, I had to return them as they were to narrow for me.

Very hard to put on. Must use a "shoe horn" to slip the heel in.

Second pair and love them more than the first
I love the GT-2000. I just updated from the 4 series. These are even lighter and I love the traction of the trail series. All my life I’ve had serious pronation issues, these have helped align my step lovely!

Comfortable and supportive
As always, I love my new Asics! These are supportive, light and comfortable. The only reason I gave them a 4 out of 5 stars is that unlike every previous pair of Asics I have owned (I don't buy any other running shoe), these run slightly small so I can only wear the thinnest of socks. Normally that is what I prefer anyway, but living in a snowy winter climate, slightly thicker socks would be nice sometimes. I wear a 7.5 so that is what I purchased and my toes touch the front. Not uncomfortably, but I definitely have no room to spare. I haven't done much hill climbing/descending since I purchased them, but I live in the mountains so time will tell if this is an issue.
