Pronation is part of the natural movement of the human body and refers to the way your foot rolls inward for impact distribution upon landing. Understanding your pronation type can help you find a comfortable running shoe. The GT-4000 is made for Neutral and Overpronation.

  • Foot Type

    Normal size arches
  • Push Off

There is even distribution from the front of the foot.
  • How your foot contacts the ground

The foot lands on outside of the heel, then rolls inward (pronates) to absorb shock and support body weight.

  • Foot Type

    Low arches or flat feet
  • Push Off

Big toe and second toe do majority of the work.
  • How your foot contacts the ground

The foot lands on outside of heel, then rolls inward (pronates) excessively, transferring weight to inner edge instead of ball of the foot.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Don't Size Up - Ouch! Previous reviews suggested ordering a size up because these ran big, so I ordered a 10 instead of my usual 9.5. I think they're too big actually - I've run in them 4 times and ended up having sore calves and Achilles from trying to stabilize too much. The last time I ran in them I had to stop 3 times to retie the laces to try to make the shoes tighter. Not a fan. I actually like my Gel Contend 5's much better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my Asics I have always purchased GT2000 and love them. I decided to try the GT 4000 and I love them even more and I also love on your website that I can look and see which shoes are better for an overpronation because that is what I have I have tried other shoes and these ones are the most comfortable and most supportive. I love them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice shoe but odd fit I purchased these shoes for fitness walking at a 4mph pace, with walks of 4-6 miles. These shoes have excellent support and cushion. The fit in the heel and midfoot is very good. I don't like the fit of the forefoot. The forefoot has an oddly shaped taper compared to my other ASICS shoes. As a result, my little toes press against the outside edge of the fabric upper. Additionally, the toe box is shallow and puts pressure on my big toe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pair of running shoes These running shoes are very comfortable. I run around 3 miles 4 times a week. I love the colors. The size is true to fit. Also the laces a re a perfect length. Not too long like some running shoes are.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very supportive These are the only shoes that keep me from having joint pain when I run. They have great arch support and help keep my gait straight.
