Pronation

Pronation is part of the natural movement of the human body and refers to the way your foot rolls inward for impact distribution upon landing. Understanding your pronation type can help you find a comfortable running shoe. The Metarun is made for Neutral and Overpronation.

  • Over

Neutral

  • Foot Type

    Normal size arches
  • Push Off

There is even distribution from the front of the foot.
  • How your foot contacts the ground

The foot lands on outside of the heel, then rolls inward (pronates) to absorb shock and support body weight.

Overpronation

  • Foot Type

    Low arches or flat feet
  • Push Off

Big toe and second toe do majority of the work.
  • How your foot contacts the ground

The foot lands on outside of heel, then rolls inward (pronates) excessively, transferring weight to inner edge instead of ball of the foot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superior adaptability Extremely light and supportive shoes. Never have to go through a break-in period; the shoes seamlessly adapt to your running style & feet. No foot fatigue associated with different terrains or temperatures. This is my second pair with no regrets.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Rolls Royce of Pronation Shoes but not durable Have had 12 pairs of Kayano, plus various Nimbus, DS Racer, pre-cursor to Metarun, Gel Divide. With the Metarun, was thrilled with the sumptuous ride, comfort , fore-and rear foot cushioning and stability - and on these counts the best pronation shoe - ever. But the problem is that after only light use, below the ball of the foot, the tread has de-laminated from the sole on both shoes, and a tear has developed in the upper near the toes. These durability issues need to be sorted out. I'm from NZ and bought these in the Broadway NYC store. If it was in NZ then I would have taken them straight back an. ASICS what can you do about this and is the new model a new color way or an improved model?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Within few days of wearing my new Metarun, bottom of soles were peeling or unglued from both sides. Very disappointed and unhappy with ASICS, this is third time ordering via online, and that’s the last time I’ll do business with ASICS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BOSS of Running Shoes! So rare and unexpected that a product can actually inspire a person to do something he or she doesn’t want to. But the Metarun feels so luxuriously cushioned and cloud-light that even a perpetually lazy person like me feels compelled to not just walk fast...but RUN! Stability is SUPERB, helped by the carbon fiber piece unique to this model, and saves my aging knees. Traction yields enormous grip and feels very sure-footed. In sum, EPIC running shoes worthy of ASICS’s flagship status. Highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the money? While the fit and finish is very similar to the Kayano 24, this is not the same shoe! With a slightly wider toe box, lighter, and both firmer and more responsive, the Metarun is, for my feet, a slightly more comfortable shoe. Is the difference worth the eighty or so more dollars this shoe costs? That's hard to answer. For those with persistent planter or other feet problems, I would say yes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from METARUN DELIVERS Just starting running again after finishing a marathon a few weeks ago. I have been battling plantar fasciitis for 5 months as well. I have been running pain free in these shoes and recovering nicely since my last marathon. Incredibly lightweight with ample support and cushioning. But what really surprised me is how flexible these shoes are. Also have excellent grip on pavement and asphalt. Worth everypenny-good job Asics!
