How your foot contacts the ground
The foot lands on outside of the heel, then rolls inward (pronates) to absorb shock and support body weight.
The METASPRINT™ track spike equips competitive sprinters with a blend of power and stability to better their performance. With accumulated knowledge and development for sprint spikes done at the ASICS Institute of Sport Science (ISS), this shoe is designed to shorten the period of contact with the ground while increasing propulsion with each stride. DYNAWRAP™ technology paneling spans from the base of the laces, over the arch, and along the midsole to keep the foot more stable on the shoe's platform. The METASPRINT™ spikes assist track and field sprinters in generating powerful strides, thanks to the honeycomb carbon fiber outsole plate. By eliminating the need for pins, sprinters are also able to make better contact with the ground.

Fastest Spikes I’ve ever worn.
These shoes give you a lot of bounce off the track and make it very easy to run fast. I haven’t noticed any slipping despite the lack of spikes (I’m a hurdler)!

Mixed opinions
Just be careful I read the reviews and decided to give it a try. Super comfortable but beware the lack of spikes really does make you slip. Would not recommend in rainy weather so if you do outdoor track maybe skip these.

Atrocious Quality Control
The uppers for these shoes are asymmetrical, they are not interchangeable on the soles. I purchased one pair of Metasprints and two pairs of SonicElites. All three pairs came with right-foot uppers mounted on the left-foot sole. See photos. The view of the inside of one pair of shoes shows the medial-side arch strap attached to the lateral-side of the left shoe. The other photos show that the eyelets do not receive the laces in a mirror image.
