The NOVABLAST™ 2 shoe is a great way to meet your training goals while moving towards a clear mindset. For the second version of this series, we wanted to create a smoother and more responsive feel underfoot. The heel stabilizer is designed to improve support while producing a smoother stride. By fine-tuning the FF BLAST™ cushioning, the shoe offers a softer landing and a more energetic rebound. The outsole's wider basenet create a more balanced landing while propelling your foot forward.

Underpronation

  • Foot Type

    High arches
  • Push Off

The pressure is on smaller toes on outside of foot.
  • Considered Injuries

Plantar fasciitis, shin splints, ankle strain.
  • How your foot contacts the ground

The outer side of the heel hits the ground at an increased angle with little or no normal pronation, causing a large transmission of shock through the lower leg.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from True to their name, I’m having a blast So much fun to run in. Fit true to size for me. Handles slower and faster paces well (7:-8:00/mi intervals up to 10:00/mi slogs) just with more tigger bounce at the faster paces. It handles greenway asphalt and gravel surprisingly well, for a newfangled “bouncy” shoe, but the sole is definitely not meant for muddy, wet, rocky trails, as I found out when forced into a trail detour mid-run. Upper is not as breathable as a certain rebellious nova equilibrio, but still fine on hot humid days, and it’s more comfortable and forgiving than my other shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost the perfect running shoe! I admit, I have avoided ASICS due to the heaviness/rigidity and unappealing colors. But my hubs tried the original Novablast on randomly and encouraged me to try them. Here I am on to the second gen. After 50 miles: Very nice upgrade to the original, which I fell in love with immediately. Still have some achilles rubbing like in the original, but nothing taller socks can’t fix. Great forefoot cushion- stack height feels stable. They are soft underfoot but also bouncy/reactive. I don’t feel like I sink into them like some shoes (Hoka). I generally use these for long runs or recovery days; But can also use them for tempo and speed work. I have wider feet for a female and these give me plenty of room. Would highly recommend and will purchase again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good every day trainer. Can handle easy and tempo Bought these for my daughter who to train in for High School Cross Country. She likes them very much, with the only small hiccup is some pain on the top of one of her feet. Unsure if it is caused by the shoe or not. Did not have the paid prior to the shoe but only one foot has the issue, and it is not a serious issue at all. She says the shoes provide good feedback and a little push off when running. We have tried other brands for a bit and have come back to ASICS mainly for the fit. They just seem to fit her feet better than other shoes. She is currently running about 35 miles a week, and has had the shoes for a month, they seem to be holding up ok. I would expect them to last about 3 or 4 months, before they will need to be replaced, with at the present time we would purchase the same model. It is noted that these shoes are strictly for training, and another brand and model will be used for actual Cross Country Races.
