The foot lands on outside of the heel, then rolls inward (pronates) to absorb shock and support body weight.
Energy savings are an important component for trail runners traversing across long distances, which is why we applied GUIDESOLE™ technology to the TRABUCO MAX™ trail shoe. This trail running shoe provides improved cushioning and traction while allowing runners to cover more terrain with less effort. GUIDESOLE™ technology is a sole construction that consists of a responsive toe spring that's scientifically proven to save energy over the long run. Thanks to the reduced load placed on the limbs from foot-strike to toe-off, this technology gives trail runners more potential to run further since they'll use less energy to cover the same distance. Traction is a necessary component for running off-road, which is why we have incorporated ASICSGRIP™ technology in the outsole. This rubber compound is functional for providing traction, especially amongst wet and slippery conditions. Incorporated into the ASICSGRIP™ outsole, we applied an uphill and downhill lug pattern for improved agility when navigating varying topography. We also wanted to provide advanced comfort and cushioning for runners that are out on the trail for hours at a time. Adding 28mm of FLYTEFOAM® technology under the heel and 23mm under the forefoot, this shoe provides excellent cushioning. Because of the high stack height, stones and roots will be better absorbed by the midsole. The combination of a smooth forward rolling motion, improved cushioning, and better traction makes the TRABUCO MAX™ shoe a great training partner for a variety of trail running workouts.

Wide feet beware
Good cushioning. Small toe box. Lacing system is great. The shoe was not comfortable for my wife. I was not happy with the return policy. She used the item once outdoors and we were not allowed to return it

Only OK~a little disappointing
Comfortable, but only after wearing them a few times. Really hard to get on initially, really tight and narrow and the laces are a pain in the neck, they have a slider instead of normal laces...I would NEVER have purchased these if I'd known that, they in NO WAY make things easier. The only reason I gave 3stars instead of 2 is that they turned out to be comfortable after wearing them on and off for about a week, but when I first got them, I needed a shoe horn to even get them on (with ASICS socks btw)

Very uncomfortable
I have used ASICS running shoes for 20 years and this is the most uncomfortable shoe I have ever owned. My feet were numb the entire run. I suppose a 1/2 size up might help as some other reviews suggest but it seems to be an issue with the width, not length so not sure. I have narrow feet and often have to search for shoes narrow enough so these seem abnormally narrow. I will never purchase again. I used twice and went out and bought a different brand.

Looking forward to more miles, but first impressio
My first try at trail shoes with Asics. I really love this shoe. The lace system is interesting. I like that it is sleek and faster than the traditional tie. I dont like that my heel seems to slip a little, even when as tight as it can comfortably be. It just tightens more on the top of my foot. Maybe another eyelet would solve this problem in the bext version.
The ride was comfortable on a mostly dirt trail. Felt secure when treading over tree roots.
Looking forward to more miles, but first impression was great

Best trail running shoe
So glad I bought these. I recommend them for anyone who is a regular trail runner. I have lots of other brands of trail running shoes, but these are my favorite.

Great shoes!
Have enjoyed these so far. They have high cush which is great for my metatarsal pain. Nice fit, nice colors!!!! I purchased in 1/2 size bigger per reviews that I read and they work great for me. I am a 5 mile a day walker not a runner.....

Not Waterproof
They aren’t waterproof all the way through like I thought. I was looking for a trail shoe I could go in a puddle with. If you get on the top part of the shoe it is mesh and totally porous. Also, it runs quite small. I’ve worn a lot of shoes from Asics and these are smaller than their standard size.
