SHOE COLLECTION
Using only high quality materials available in Japan, the ASICS JAPAN COLLECTION is a testament to the sporting heritage and meticulous standards of ASICS.
The rich and tonal dark brown color has been achieved by using traditional Suzuka Sumi ink to dye the high-quality leather. The artisan craftsmen of ‘Shinseido’ in Mie Prefecture have been producing the finest quality Sumi Ink from pine resin and rapeseed oil since the Edo period. Through the union of traditional craftsmanship, tanning expertise, and ASICS’ sports technology and advanced designs, a contemporary fusion of heritage and culture is born.
This leather has been made utilising the unique tone and texture of the leather. With its smooth feel and excellent durability, the high-quality leather is also sustainable in its creation, attaining its arctic blue color without the use of dyes.
White leather is sourced from premium Japanese hides and tanned in Himeji City using traditional methods of oil and water. This special leather will develop a unique patina over time.
GEL-NIMBUS 20
This model is based on the high-performance GEL-NIMBUS™ running shoe franchise. An update to 20th century models, this version's upper is made from wet blue leather that offers a luxurious feel and a clean finish.
GEL-KYRIOS
The GEL-KYRIOS™ sneaker has an updated silhouette that evokes the original GEL-HELIOS running shoe from 2005-06. The upper is crafted with an ink-dyed leather, while the sole delivers excellent shock reduction, thanks to the placement of GEL™ technology in the heel and forefoot. Lastly, the midsole is constructed with FLYTEFOAM™ Propel cushioning that adds softness and an engineered resilience for comfort.
GEL-PTG MT
This mid-cut version of the GEL-PTG™ echoes the ASICS basketball shoe that became a worldwide symbol of our brand when it was launched in 1983. The upper is crafted with an ink-dyed leather that offers a sophisticated and clean look.
GEL-KAYANO 14
This is a lifestyle variation of the GEL-KAYANO™ 14 running shoe that debuted in 2008. Even today, our products carry on this shoe's legacy as the first ASICS model to incorporate shear deformation GEL™ technology. It also was the first model ever developed under the direction of ASICS designers other than Toshikazu Kayano, the father of the GEL-KAYANO™. This model features a wet blue leather upper, which signifies that it's part of the ASICS JAPAN COLLECTION, giving it a luxurious feel and a clean finish.
