Ghalya Al-Harami, a 36-year-old who discovered my love for running during my time as a student in the UK. To me, sports mean more than just winning or losing; they're a way of life.
I started getting into competitive running in 2020, after the COVID-19 pandemic, with the guidance of my running coach, Mr. Abdullah Al-Kaabi. Since then, I've taken part in various races, winning some and earning trophies, including a first-place finish in the 25 KM Theeb 2023 race.
Some achievements that I'm proud of include completing the Gulf Bank Full Marathon in Kuwait and finishing the 90 KM Qatar East to West Ultramarathon. But what I value the most is never giving up on a race, no matter how tough it gets. If life keeps going, so do I.
Outside of sports, I'm into reading and fashion. After a day of work as a Public relations specialist at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, I make sure to balance all three – sports, reading, and fashion – because life is about finding that equilibrium.
With a determined spirit and a desire for personal and athletic growth, I, Ghalya Al-Harami, am on a journey of self-discovery through running. I'm ready for whatever challenges and opportunities lie ahead!
