Our circular approach to addressing climate change
This means using fewer materials, reusing materials and making longer-lasting products.
Since our founding in 1949, our purpose has been to help people achieve a Sound Mind in a Sound Body. But in order to achieve Sound Mind, Sound Body, we need a sound earth to run on.
So we're taking action-reducing carbon emissions, embracing recycled materials and using less resources, to continue bringing the benefits of movement to the world we love to run in.
The new carbon footprint label is part of our continuing efforts to reduce our carbon emissions. We are measuring and sharing the carbon footprint of our products, allowing wearers to make decisions that not only benefit mind and body, but also the planet.

Create items that use fewer resources.
Use recycled, bio-based and more water-efficient options.
Source renewable energy and manufacture efficiently and cleanly.
Constantly improve quality so products last even longer.
Take items back for reuse and recycling.
Polyester production from recycled PET bottles emits less CO2e and uses fewer fossil resources than traditional polyester production.
At least 70% of the GEL-CUMULUS® 25 shoe’s main upper* is made with polyester fabric from recycled PET bottles.
Less than 1% (estimated) of material used to make all clothing is recycled — we aim to change that.
The GEL-LYTE™ III OG SHIGEN shoe’s main upper* is made using 60% recycled felt from textile waste.
We use bio-based materials, which helps reduce the consumption of fossil resources. The GEL-KAYANO® 30 shoe features FF BLAST™ PLUS ECO cushioning, which is made with at least 20% bio-based material.
Solution dyeing will help reduce carbon emissions from our dyeing by 45% and reduce water usage by 33%. The GT-2000® 11 shoe’s sock liner is made using a solution dyeing process.

These images are artistic interpretations of recycled or sustainable materials. They may not be actual representations of the specific ASICS product or material used.
*ASICS defines "shoe's main upper material" as the material which covers the most surface area in the upper.
The ASICS sunflower icon represents our sustainability pledge and commitment to preserving the planet.
