ASICS and Matin Kim, a Seoul-based design label, have teamed up for our first ever footwear collaboration with the GEL-SONOMA™ 15-50 sneaker in three shoe design line ups. The collaboration pack features the silhouette in an entirely new direction while staying true to the GEL-SONOMA™ 15-50 shoe’s excellent comfort and chunky aesthetic.
Blending our heritage of technicality and Matin Kim’s brand focus of making unique pieces associated with minimalism, this collaboration started from asking the critical question of “which shoes would I wear when I go on a journey to find my own ego?”. The line up features three colour ways of the GEL-SONOMA™ 15-50 sneaker including “Glacier Grey/White”, “Oasis Green/Pure Silver”, and “Black/Pure Silver”.
“Glacier Grey/White” features clean leather uppers with a gridded mesh base and details including nylon eyelet loops and deep treaded soles. “Oasis Green/Pure Silver” features a light aquatic mint colour that contrasts with the shiny silver colour to add subtle charm. "Black/Pure Silver" features turquoise green and blue colours in addition to the khaki colour scheme.
Aside from the subtle material and colour tweaks, the “Glacier Grey/White” and “Oasis Green/Pure Silver” colour ways see a more comprehensive modification to our GEL-SONOMA™ 15-50 sneaker by way of a more functional lacing system. All line ups include special details arriving as part of the collaboration including thin lock laces and line ups including co-branding across the patent leather tongue tabs and insoles.
