I’m a 37-year-old mom of four. My running journey has been anything but ordinary! I used to run competitively in high school for three years, but life took me in different directions when I moved to Ireland. After the birth of my twins, I felt the pull to become active again. I tried everything from fitness competitions to teaching myself shuffle dancing and jump rope tricks, but nothing truly stuck—until nearly two years ago, when my husband invited me to join him and some friends for a run.
That one run changed everything. A few runs later, I declared, “I want to do a marathon.” With the help of my high school running coach, I trained for four months and completed the Dublin Marathon with a time of 3:24—an experience I’ll never forget. Since then, I’ve followed my running plan religiously without skipping a day. In just two years, I’ve run three marathons, several shorter-distance races, and found my passion for creating content that shares the real, often humorous, side of running.
For me, running is a rollercoaster ride of highs and lows. It has taught me discipline, grit, and the importance of consistency. It reminds me to carve out space for myself, even as a busy mom of four. Most importantly, running has shown me the value of perseverance, a lesson I hope to pass on to my kids.
