A review of the ASICS Roadhawk FF (FlyteFoam) trainers.

The new ASICS Roadhawk FF trainers were launched at the first ASICS FrontRunner International Meeting in Germany, June 2017. I was able to test them out in the 5km Neuss Summer Run.

My first impressions of putting them on was positive. They felt like a comfortable extension of my feet, particularly with the snug fit of the lightweight upper mesh which ensured my feet stayed cool and breathable.

The weight of these neutral trainers, are approximately 245g for men and 190g for women.

The Roadhawk FF is best viewed as a versatile performance trainer for fast paced road running. Coupled with the full length FlyteFoam midsole, it provided plenty of cushioning for the 5k road race at a tempo speed, which is where they shine. But equally I find them comfortable and to wear for short to medium distance easy pace or recovery runs.

It is a great addition to the ASICS FlyteFoam (FF) series and is seen in several other ASICS models like the DynaFlytes, Kayano's for example. This technology is known to offer fantastic energy return as well as a high level of shock absorption.

Beneath the FlyteFoam, the rubber outsole provides good traction, I felt connected to the road when running in them.

Overall the ASICS Roadhawk FF is a great allrounder, it offers performance, comfort, and versatility at a modest price.
