Hi! I’m Delene and I am delighted to have been an ASICS FrontRunner since 2025. I began running for physical fitness, but it’s the mental benefits that have kept me going.
I began running in 2018 when I signed up to Sydney Half Marathon and jumped out of a plane to raise money for the centre that looked after my Dad when he passed away when I was younger. I realised the sense of purpose and motivation running gave me was something else, and I wanted to keep hold of that feeling.
I have had one heck of a year with the ASICS FrontRunner team, starting in April 2025 where I ran my first-ever marathon in Paris! A real highlight of my year has been joining my international teammates for the Vienna Women's Run, where I took on the 10km course - a fast and flat one, ideal for PBs. I then ventured away from road running to participate in my first-ever trail race - the Paznaun-Ischgl Ultra Trail in the mountains of Austria. I was definitely diving in at the deep end and was the last person across the finish line in the 30km distance (2,500m ascent).
Thankfully, I honed my trail running skills in Chamonix in August 2025 with some of my ASICS FrontRunner teammates, where we spent a week at a training camp ahead of the UTMB races. I stay upright on the trails far more often now (but not always!). Chamonix is without a doubt the most beautiful place I've ran.
I finished off this year with a trip to Tokyo to watch the World Athletics Championships, even having the opportunity to run around Japan National Stadium's track where I'd spent the week watching the real athletes run.
