About NIMBUS MIRAIâą
In Japanese, the word âMIRAIâ translates as future, reflecting ASICSâ commitment to making a positive impact on future generations of runners, paying them a kindness in advance.
Designed with recycling in mind, the NIMBUS MIRAIâą running shoe is launching with a new returns programme, encouraging runners to give back the shoes at the end of their usable life so that their materials can be recycled and made into new shoes.
The NIMBUS MIRAIâą shoe is produced with an upper made from uniform polyester material, of which approximately 80% is recyclable. The FF BLASTâą PLUS ECO foam in the shoeâs midsole has been created from approximately 24% renewable sources such as leftovers from sugar cane processing.
The deconstructed NIMBUS MIRAIâą will go through recycling process at TerraCycleÂź - our partner for the project - before they come back as raw materials for us to use again.
