Your favourite workout?

Pilates and yoga are my go-to workouts. I personally find that the classes are more welcoming and accommodating compared to other types of workouts. They create a safe and inclusive space for people from different backgrounds and fitness levels. Another aspect of my fitness routine is the daily walks with my four dogs. They're like my workout buddies, always barking and nudging me to move, even on days when I'd rather just stay in. I enjoy being with them. It makes me feel connected and loved.

Any favourite workout song(s)?

For slower activities like yin yoga or stretching, I love listening to Jhene Aiko's 'Alive & Well (Gratitude Mantra)' because it grounds me and helps me connect with my body. And for faster workouts, I prefer songs like 'Boy's a Liar Pt. 2' by PinkPantheress and Ice Spice or 'Persuasive' by Doechii.

What is Sound Mind Sound Body to you?

For me, a sound mind in a sound body means taking a holistic approach to my well-being. It's not just about physical fitness, but also about mental and emotional well-being. This includes restful sleep, mindful eating and other aspects of self-care to promote a sense of balance and vitality while building an element of fun into my routine.

A word of encouragement/advice for the women's community out there

Your story matters more than you can imagine. It's a unique story full of ups and downs that has shaped the incredible person you are today. Don't let your past or the negative narratives in your head define who you are or limit what you can achieve. You have the power to rewrite your story, to take back the pen and chart a new course.

“This too shall pass.”

This is something I live by on a daily basis because I always believe that anything we are feeling or going through is just temporary, and it will pass in it's due time. After all, the only thing that is constant in life is change.
