Something special happens when runners come together with a shared purpose. This year, that energy came to life at the Chojo Training Camp in Font Romeu-an experience that blended performance, philosophy, and community in a truly unforgettable way.
Chojo is more than just a training approach. Rooted in Japanese culture, it’s a mindset-one that embraces longevity, balance, and a lifelong connection to running. It’s about showing up consistently, listening to your body, and finding joy in the process. And there’s no better place to embody that ethos than Font Romeu, a historic altitude training destination that has shaped elite athletes for decades.

ASICS FrontRunner UK&IRE member Toby Bennett had the opportunity to attend this unique camp, stepping into an environment designed not just to challenge the body, but to nurture the mind. Days began with crisp mountain air and easy miles along scenic trails, gradually building into structured sessions on the track where the altitude quietly demanded more from every stride.
“The first few days hit hard,” said Toby, “but as I became acclimatised I started to reap the benefits. I’ve been pushing the effort all week to make the most of this experience.”
Workshops throughout the week explored everything from injury prevention to mental resilience, reinforcing the idea that running well goes far beyond the physical. Toby returned not just fitter, but with a renewed perspective-one grounded in sustainability and joy.
As a community, this is what we strive for. Not just faster times, but deeper connections-to ourselves, to each other, and to the journey we’re on.
