atmos and Albino & Preto draw inspiration from the "VS" concept in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for their GEL-KAYANO™ 12.1 sneaker collaboration. Each collaborator selected a colorway that is rooted in the idea of Jiu-Jitsu opponents having different colored uniforms.

This design's upper construction was inspired by European gothic armor and its structural properties. The upper also features a combination of synthetic leather overlays open mesh underlays that help keep feet cool and comfortable.

The midsole features the same tooling system as the GEL-NIMBUS™ 17 shoe. It was originally engineered for comfort during the marathons, featuring dual GEL™ technology inserts and a FLUIDRIDE™ cushioning structure.
