When Adeline Gray first joined ASICS, she held two World Championship medals and had served as an alternate for the 2012 U.S. women's wrestling team. A decade later, she’s a six-time World Champion, a two-time Olympian, and a mom to twins: OJ and AD. Now, she’s training in hopes of a third appearance on the world’s stage.

Adeline was born in Denver, CO in 1991 and started wrestling at six years old. Her parents, George and Donna Gray, each came from wrestling-centric families and encouraged Adeline to take up the sport. She was a natural from the beginning and trained hard to best the competition—many of whom were boys. In high school, she was named wrestling team captain and earned three state championship titles. After her junior year, she moved to Michigan to finish her studies and train with fellow female wrestlers at the Olympic Education Center. She made her Olympic debut in Rio in 2016 and took home a silver medal in Tokyo in 2021.

After becoming a mom in 2022, Adeline returned to the mat and earned a bronze medal at the 2023 World Championships. She continues to be an inspiration and advocate for female athletes of all ages: "Women in sport don't have to just have this be something they do in their early twenties," she says, "You can live your life and it doesn't have to be (that) you have to put your life on hold."
Join us in cheering on Adeline at the wrestling team trials in April! In the meantime, learn more about our incredible ASICS Athletes.
