About ASICS NOOSA TRI™ 16 lightweight trainers

If you want a trainer that feels weightless underfoot, consider the ASICS NOOSA TRI™ 16 fast triathlon shoe. These trainers are built with our lightest and most energetic midsole foam to give you cloud-like softness through every step. The ASICS NOOSA TRI™ 16 release date is set for July 2024.

Who are the ASICS NOOSA TRI™ 16 shoes for?

The ASICS NOOSA TRI™ 16 is a training shoe designed for triathlon runners. You'll feel the energetic response of the FF BLAST™ PLUS foam in the sole that provides a significantly lighter cushioning experience.

We've further enhanced the outsole with a new ASICSGRIP™ rubber that stands up to the conditions common in triathlon events, giving you a stronger grip in wet conditions. The highly breathable and lightweight mesh upper provides support without added overlays.

The ASICS NOOSA TRI™ 16 trainer provides adaptive, on-demand stability when your legs start to get tired. If you underpronate or have neutral pronation, the ASICS NOOSA TRI™ 16 lightweight triathlon shoe will suit your running style.

What's the difference between the NOOSA TRI™ 16 and NOOSA TRI™ 15 shoes?

The ASICS Design Philosophy, which focuses on creating superior products and technologies, is behind the improvements in the ASICS NOOSA TRI™ 16 trainer.

We replaced the engineered upper with a lightweight, breathable mesh that eliminates the need for overlays. We also swapped FLYTEFOAM™ for FF BLAST™ PLUS, our lightest and most energetic midsole foam, for a weightless feeling underfoot and an energetic response. The sole is improved with the highly abrasion-resistant rubber in the ASICSGRIP™ outsole, providing better grip, even in the wet conditions common in triathlon events.

Overall, we reduced the weight of each ASICS NOOSA TRI™ 16 trainer from 227g to 215g for the men's style, and from 196g to 185g for the women's style.

ASICS NOOSA TRI™ 16 triathlon shoe sustainability

Sustainably produced products are a top focus at ASICS. We switched to a solution dyeing process for the ASICS NOOSA TRI™ 16 sockliner that reduces water usage by approximately 33% and carbon emissions by approximately 45%, compared to the conventional dyeing technology.

The material in the FF BLAST™ PLUS midsole foam contains 20% bio-based material from renewable sources, and the breathable mesh upper is constructed with recycled polyester.
