Pronation is part of the natural movement of the human body and refers to the way your foot rolls inward for impact distribution upon landing. Understanding your pronation type can help you find a comfortable running shoe. The GEL-CUMULUS 22 (2E) is made for Underpronation and Neutral.

  • Foot Type

    High arches
  • Push Off

The pressure is on smaller toes on outside of foot.
  • How your foot contacts the ground

The outer side of the heel hits the ground at an increased angle with little or no normal pronation, causing a large transmission of shock through the lower leg.

  • Foot Type

There is even distribution from the front of the foot.
  • How your foot contacts the ground

The foot lands on outside of the heel, then rolls inward (pronates) to absorb shock and support body weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight and comfortable. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very comfortable shoe. Lightweight, breathes well, toe box is spacious and shoe is well put together. Heel height is perfect and fit is spot on. Can't go wrong with this shoe.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Almost a better shoe! the fit is always good and accommodate my custom foot orthotics ! traction is good too. the mid-sole could be more dense. i think more cush means energy lost, means more drag. and not everyone pronates!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great but need more wide width G-XT Great, just wish they made more shoes in G-TX (wide widths, neutral to under pronate). Wide width walkers and runners are out in inclement weather also.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as comfortable as I was hoping for. I'm 59 years old and have been an on again off again runner since high school. I've run some 5k's, 10k's and a half marathon over the years. I have skinny ankles and heal and a fairly wide forefoot. So I ordered a size 9.5 wide. To my dismay, instead of making the foot bed wider, they instead added more fabric to the toe box part of the shoe. So I now have to tie the shoes quite tightly to prevent my feet from sliding to the sides past and over the edge of the foot bed. This also causes the fabric to bunch up and fold where the laces begin at the toe box which is unsightly and doesn't contribute to a proper fit. Also the cushioning is not that great. Needs to have more gel. I will probably return them even if they don't provide a refund. I just don't want them anymore. I know it's difficult to remain competitive in the crowded running shoe market. But it seems the current shoe is a result of re-engineering what doesn't need to be fixed in the first place. To that point: An old pair of Asics GEL Contende 2 that I have has a nice wide foot bed and still fit great and were half the price. And they don't even indicate it was a "wide" fit. I'd keep running in them but the soles are all worn out. I use them for yard work sneakers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needs more Gel! I like the shoes, but it seems that ASICS just don't have the plush, comfortable gel that they became known for. I wish you would make them the way you used to. Put more gel in the shoes!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Asics Gel Cumulus BEST SHOES EVER! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Gel Cumulus by ASICS are by far the best shoes I've ever owned. I have nerve damage in my right foot and my physician recommended the ASICS gel about 7 years ago. I've not bought any other shoes since! They are the most comfortable shoes in existence.
