The GEL-KAYANOÂź 12.1 sneaker combines iconic design details from the version that launched in 2006 and harmonizes them with a modern tooling system.
This design's upper was inspired by European gothic armor and its structural, metallic properties. The upper also features a combination of leather overlays open mesh underlays that help keep feet cool and comfortable.
The midsole features the same tooling system as the GEL-NIMBUSÂź 17 shoe. It was originally engineered for comfort during the marathons, featuring dual GELÂź technology inserts and a FLUIDRIDEâą cushioning structure.
